In case you were unaware, Cory Henry can also sing!!! I realize Iβm likely just terribly ignorant. Amazing. Fantastic.
Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators - Anastasia live from Sydney Australia. 2013
We all know this one.
I've never heard of either Martin Miller or Lari Basillo before this, but man this whole band just CRUSHES it.
Hope you enjoy it!
Max Ostro ripping into it. So fluid, so good!
Hey Michael and GuitarGate community,
Sometimes when I am listening to music on iTunes I will hit the βcreate stationβ on some of my favorites artists in hopes of discovering new music that inspires me. Today I was doing just that and while listening to the Cody Jinks station this song came on and hooked me immediately. I instantly thought this would be a great song and artist for a reacts request. These guys have a great sound and the lyrics are a true story based on the songwriters/lead singers father. Skip to about the 1:30 mark to get straight to the song. Hope you enjoy this as much as I do. Thank you for providing this awesome community and lessons.

Goose can do no wrong!
Mike, check this out. Mayer covering a Mac Miller song as a tribute after MM OD'd. Id never listened to MM before, but man this is just beautiful. You'll dig. AE
I really like this stripped down version of Adore by Amy Shark. It still seems like she's a bit unknown here in the U.S.
I guess the song is a bit simple but maybe there's enough there to talk about and maybe others might enjoy it too!
If you liked Acid Mammoth from the recent video you did, I think you'll love this band from Richmond, VA. Juxtaposing the heaviest, most crushing riffs with beautiful ethereal vocals. And I've always wanted to know how guitarist Garrett Morris plays those guitar solos, from what's going on with his tone to the licks he's playing, I love that sound so much!
Great group that I wish more people knew/talked about. A bit different from their older stuff, which is less poppy has a more jazz focus. But this is a pretty cool tune
Hey man, not sure if you've reviewed these guys before, if you have I haven't seen but I think you'll love them. I've had an insanely tough year with a lot of personal stuff going on but I stick this on and it's like I'm in a different world, you literally cannot feel bad listening to it. Keep up the amazing work, you've honestly changed music for me for the better and it was already one of the most important things in my life!
Much love from the UK,
Ben
Jimmy Herring is an incredibly underrated guitar player. He makes his strat sing running it through a volume pedal into a cranked Fender amp. He and his band are master improvisers and show off their skill with this Led Zeppelin classic.
Found this kid scrolling through Instagram Reels and was immediately taken aback by his vocals and lyrics. So, I started looking up his YouTube videos and fell in love with this song. An immense talent for his young age. I can see his songwriting reaching the heights of Jason Isbell and John Moreland in the years to come, as he matures as a singer, songwriter and human being. Love your channel and what you do, Michael!!
This man is a powerhouse!
Evan has started to make a name for himself when he released a cover of Jersey Giant by Childers. His voice is incredible and his lyrics are sometimes heartbreaking and sometimes funny. His guitar playing is sometimes very intricate and sometimes very simple. He is overall a great artist and this is my favorite by him.
Absolutely phenomenal Irish singer, cool jazz vibes and chord structures. Backed by the Ollam, which includes Joe Dart from Vulfpeck. Be prepared for some incredible vocals and jamming out to a jazz flute solo.
Hi there, Michael!
First of all - love your channel and I'm glad I've discovered you :)
I'm from Poland (eastern Europe) where the band called 'DΕΌem' is kind of a king of Blues here. The video I want to share is the last performance of the lead singer (a year later he died due to long-term heroin usage.) The translation of the title is 'Time Machine', and it tells of good times that have already gone by and what a great invention a time machine would be. I love the performance, maybe you will find something in it, too.
Best regards from Poland !

Davy Knowles is an incredible guitarist, and his performance here of his song Coming Up For Air is top notch, you have to check this out! He does some really cool techniques in his solo for this song too! Please give it a go, you won't be disappointed! Thank you!
Hi Michael,
Out of every song ive ever heard, nothing blows my mind quite like this! My favorite performance always and forever! Would love to see your reaction and a breakdown of the jam in the middle, and the little reggae swing during the last chorus.
Harmonies between Adams and Casal as well as their overall guitar interplay is criminally underrated in my opinion!
Thanks for everything! Love the channel!
Hey Michael! This is a beautiful song that Jacob Collier wrote. The song is great but, the special thing about this video is John Meyer's guitar solo and tone. I've never heard a guitar sound like this! Thanks for what you do.
Special Ted
The best Canadian rock band ever doing an iconic tune with a lot of cool unique details and a great showing of Gord Downie and his magic.
Hey Michael-
I've been listening to this Josh Daniel guy for about a year now. He live streams a lot of his small gigs to his YT and FB followers, and also plays solo from his house pretty often. His specialty is typically looping his rhythm and then jamming over that with pedal effects (essentially turning his acoustic into an electric guitar-like sound), and I just really enjoy his style. Really good covers and originals, great vocals, etc.
However, this particular video is actually how I initially discovered Josh. There is no looping or pedals in this one; just an acoustic guitar on a porch playing/singing the whole Terrapin Station. As you know, Terrapin is really like three distinct songs in one, and I wouldn't normally think one guitar would be capable of nailing it like this. He doesn't play the traditional Jerry or Bob solos in this because there would be no rhythm guitar to solo over, but he still manages some kind of like chord-tonal mix of solo and chord strumming together.
Anyhow, would love to see your reaction and also break down some of his sections so I could try to learn it. I can only play the Lady with a Fan part so far (not the solo part, though).
Thanks!
Brian
Plini is always fun to listen to but this particularly caught my attention with band dynamics and the interplay between all of the musicians, particularly between the keys and sax. Love to hear Michael break this down for us!
