I saw Adeem the Artist open for Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit a couple months back in Fayetteville, Arkansas. They were a great performer and this song really hit me. It was the stand out moment in their set. I was so happy to see Western AF feature it on their channel and this performance is so great. Watching them perform it solo gives it so much more depth and seeing them take a breath and the angst/pain in their face before that last chorus is so emotional. Itβs a fantastic story that rings true for many folks out there, especially those from the south and Midwest.

Biography
I've played guitar for 25 years. I took lessons when I was 11 up until I was around 13. I wasn't learning the things I wanted to learn so I quit taking lessons, but not playing the guitar and learning new things. I started buying Guitar World magazine about the time I turned 12, taught myself how to read tabs and got more enjoyment out of learning songs and riffs I wanted to learn rather than what my teacher had me working on. Usually just playing sheet music from books. Unfortunately, I quit lessons before learning any music theory or the Nashville Numbers system or anything that would really help me be a better guitarist, musician and bandmate. I'm a decent guitarist, but I'd like to be better and should be better than I am. I'm hoping to remedy that by joining Guitargate. I discovered your Youtube channel while quarantined and Covid stricken in late 2020. I became obsessed with watching the reaction videos and loved how you not only react, but teach while you react. That being said, most of what you said in your lessons didn't register much with me, because I have no music theory under my belt. I write original music and in 2016 actually recorded and released an album in Seattle at the legendary Soundhouse Studios with iconic producer and, "The Godfather of Grunge," Jack Endino producing, engineering and mixing. I'm proud of the album, but not necessarily the lyrics on most of the songs. That's when I decided I wanted to focus more on songwriting. Listening to artists like Zach Bryan, John Moreland and Tyler Childers have helped me become a better lyricist, but listening to Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit made me realize that I could be both a good lyricist and good guitarist. So, I think learning music theory and the Nashville Numbers System will help me become a better songwriter as a whole, or composer at least and the rest of your lessons will help me branch out in my lead playing and become a better guitarist, artist and musician as a whole.
