Don't know if you've listened to this already or not, but this is Tiger Merritt. Front man of an incredibly wacky, psychedelia-laced groovy bunch of melody makers called Morning Teleportation. From Bowling Green Kentucky. They only put out 2 albums in their short career, but both are fantastic works of art. I think other fans of WEEN would enjoy the first album if they haven't heard it already. Sadly, after the second album Tiger Merritt had passed away. I'm glad I had the chance to see them live a couple times and hang out with them. There isn't much good quality video of them playing live, but this solo performance showcases the talent of Merritt and his songwriting abilities.

Such an amazing performance by Dallas Green and company. Love the atmosphere and feel of this song. Tasteful guitar playing, GREAT baseline, and vocal harmonies that are killer. Just soothing to the ears to listen to. Would like to see your reaction to this!
A great song about something very real to people today as it was when it happened. This song wasn't a hit single with a video but one of those slow burners that the fans adore. The singer wrote this song in response to the school shooting at Columbine. It was hard finding a live video of this song with any sort of quality in the audio. Even though this clip doesn't have the famous story with it, I think you can put the pieces together. I love the energy the band and the crowd give each other. ๐ธ
The Dean Ween Group perform an awesome live improv jam on their song "Dickie Betts", in homage to the guitar stylings of the Allman Brothers Band.
Wonderful vibes
Marc Ribot is a big reason why I play guitar and after finding out about your react videos i kept thinking i would love to see this one. I'm giving it a shot.
Michael! There is SO MUCH to take in here. 4 songs in 15 minutes, INCREDIBLE live performance in so many ways. Every one of the artists are extremely locked in to eachother - and Anderson's ability to do complex lyrics and hold a perfect drum beat at the same is just mind boggling. This short concert is a confident, charismatic and laid back masterpiece.
This is a long video but thank god it is! I did not want it to end... John Mayer in full effect
Hey Michael! Thank you so much for opening up this community to us. I know you probably hear this all the time but it's incredible how wonderful and accepting you and the guitar gate members are. Anyway, onto the request. This is a very good friend of mine's band and I think you'd really love the song. But what I'd love to hear from you is a breakdown of the embellishments and other things he does to make what is a "simple 1, 4, 5" song into something that's so engaging musically.
Thank you, and keep up what you're doing. We all benefit from it.
Michael, I'm glad to finally be here on guitargate. I've watched the channel and the content is spectacularly done. Way to be true!
This song by Dave has haunted me as a person and is by far my current nemesis as a player. I'd love to hear some key take aways. Thank you sir.
How cool is this?
Little Barrie performs one of my favorite songs ever live in Paris. Barrie Cadogan's lead guitar is so smooth and unique, one of the most underrated guitarists around.
I first heard this song in a video game years back and fell in love with it. Shawn has an incredible voice and is an outstanding guitar player. He has a lot of great songs and this is his best.
It's just a sick cover. Maybe you could do a lesson on how to achieve Gary Moore's epic guitar face
Few people could command an entire theater audience into complete silence like Damien. This performance is just pure brilliance and the audience's silence speaks volumes.
Beautiful and flowing arrangement. This is a fantastic example of playing what serves the music rather than showing off or over-complicating things. Great track to wrap up a long day with.
I love the playfulness with both the lyrics and guitar work in this version of the song. I'm not one for country music generally, but I just love this guy. There are a lot of good somber tracks that are deep and hit you hard out there, but sometimes it's nice to just get playful with it. Please enjoy!
Hey Michael I love the site and I think you need to see this. Everything from the chord progression to the tone to the extra solo is ridiculous.
Love how Eric goes out of his confort zone, always with class
Stumbled upon this instrumental version of "I Put a Spell on You", performed by Justin Johnson on a B standard baritone. Baritones are just amazing for this type of slow, dark blues, completely different vibe.
Beautiful technique on both acoustic and electric guitars.
Micheal, do yourself a favor andput your earphones on for this one. So many lessons here, from how to build a deep groove to how to be sensitive to what is happening around you to how simple becomes outstanding.
Ry Cooder is Gutherie Trapp's hero. Mine too. From an album release which is just now infiltrating the musical exicon of Americana gospel. Cooder is still pure genius.
Hi Michael,
I love your channel. You taught me how to play guitar and I was then able to use that knowledge and be a guitar teacher for kids for 9 months at a local music, no BS. So thanks for your channel. I know you have been told this a lot but you are a real dude who knows how to communicate what music really is about in your videos. That is why I am submitting this video - it was the crossover I didn't know I needed and really made me something good so I hope it does you too.
Thanks,
Jack Sanders
Jerry Reed and the King play a great song and BB makes it bluesy would love to see a breakdown of the licks and moves in this great performance.
Michael, brand new member but I've been a huge follower for several years. I would love to hear your feedback/reaction to this great band that's been flying under the radar.
Cactus Blossoms are from the Twin Cities and are a really cool throwback to Everly Brothers era but have a great band that can really play.
