I know this doesn’t have any guitar parts. However, if you listen to this and don’t feel any emotion you should check your pulse. I have never been a religious man but after listening to this I may have to go to church and it’s not even a gospel song! I tried finding a live version with guitar but the only one I found was an acoustic set on a morning radio show. It was good but I feel this version is better. I just discovered this band tonight and fell down a rabbit hole. I watched an entire concert, during which, the Vocalist (Brandon Coleman) talked about how they recorded the album like artists did in the 1960s. The whole band in a room together. They felt that the energy live on stage should be captured in the recording without the need for modern technology and overproduction. Let me tell you, I listened to that album and they are absolute correct. It has a soul that very few albums ,if any, have today.

Hey Michael and GuitarGate community,
Sometimes when I am listening to music on iTunes I will hit the “create station” on some of my favorites artists in hopes of discovering new music that inspires me. Today I was doing just that and while listening to the Cody Jinks station this song came on and hooked me immediately. I instantly thought this would be a great song and artist for a reacts request. These guys have a great sound and the lyrics are a true story based on the songwriters/lead singers father. Skip to about the 1:30 mark to get straight to the song. Hope you enjoy this as much as I do. Thank you for providing this awesome community and lessons.

I think this such a beautiful song by Ashley McBride. Simple story telling and acoustic guitar playing but man those lyrics hit hard. Her voice is like a country angel. If you haven’t heard this song or of Ashley. Your Welcome.

Like most of Eric Church’s songs. This song is a great example of songwriting In my opinion. Although this is one of the rare songs not written by him. It’s written by Casey Beathard. Songs like this one inspire me to pick up the guitar everyday. I love a song that tells a story. Unfortunately,This is a studio video. I tried to find a good live version but couldn’t. Hope you enjoy it just the same.

Hello Michael,
I don’t believe you have covered Ward Davis yet or if your even aware of him. He has co-written a few songs for his good friend Cody Jinks. I love all of his music but believe this to be a good example of his songwriting. In todays overproduced and auto tuned pop country, although some of it is still good music, it’s refreshing to hear someone such as Ward with just a six string , good voice, and lyrics play. Even if this doesn’t make it to your reacts videos. I hope you check him out. I would also recommend the song “Threads”
I’ve been watching your react videos for awhile now. I bought my first guitar in my late teens and played around with it but never learned anything. Then life happened had a daughter and laid that guitar down after a couple of years. Flash forward to today. I’m 44 and picked the guitar back up about a year ago after twenty plus years of not playing. This time with the intention of actually learning. I have already learned more songs in this first year than I ever learned in my teens. Now I’m ready to take it to the next level and learn more. After watching your react videos and the free lesson videos on Guitargate I decided to go all in and get the lifetime membership. Your passion for all music is inspiring and motivating. I look forward to interacting with the community you have built. Thanks for all you do. Keep hammering brother.
