Michael, appreciating this whole community and the new music coming to me as a result. Also making my way through the lessons and don't plan on stopping. I am also not alone in being a historic 'head that can't let you off the hook in getting through Cornell '77. If and when you get to El Paso, try playing this short (it's only 2:37) live version by Marty from "Country Style" Australia. As best I can tell the guitarist in the back is not Grady Martin (the recording guitarist - and accidental inventor of the fuzz pedal btw). However, he does a decent job with the licks. I would love for you to start here before you jump into what Jerry ultimately does with the "arpeggiated" melody. (that's evidently actually a word - I just googled it).

This performance from D'angelo and his supergroup band is the level of unified groove that every band should strive for. Isaiah Sharkey once again gives a masterclass on how the guitar fits into a band like this. This is the most impressive band in the world right now.

Groovy song.

The Scream was a hard rock band in the late 80's early 90's. On guitar we have Bruce Bouillet - former GIT student and former guitarist of Racer X (Paul Gilbert). Unfortunately I haven't found any live footage, but I just really like this song (especially the solo) and Bruce is just a incredibly talented musician and guitarist.

Ian Thornley playing Big Wreck's "Under The Lighthouse" however it's not with the full band, just the bassist Dave McMillan and I'm not sure who the drummer is. Amazing slide guitar in this song.

This video showcases the incredible talent of Robert Ellis. Everything from his fingerpicking, sense for rhythm, and taste for unique chord voicings. The fact that the subject matter is so sincere and raw is just a bonus. This guy is woefully unheralded considering his songwriting and performing capabilities.

This band is so insanely awesome and has been a big part of my musical life, they inspired me to start playing guitar and inspire most of the music I create! I believe you will seriously enjoy this band if you don’t already know them! A react to this spectacular performance would be amazing!!!

I’m brand new to your courses and I really have enjoyed your videos on YouTube. I’m 51 and just started learning guitar a few months ago. I hope I’m not too late to get decent!

Anyway, since a young kid I have always loved Schon’s work on Stone in Love. Great melodic solo and outro. I would love to hear you talk about him as a guitarist and his licks and techniques in this song. Please and thank you!

Wishing you and yours peace, love and happiness!

I just joined lifetime guitargate, I am loving the website and the reaction/teach YT videos. I started out almost 20 years ago learning guitar and bass. The bass drew me to this band (Rob being one of my favite bassist)which I think I play more than guitar but after joining guitargate and watching your YouTube vids I'm hitting it hard on learning better guitar. Altogether I have seen a moe. Video from you and they need to be addressed, pick anyone but "bullet" has wicked good guitar in it!!!

Hello Michael, I really appreciate your videos and teaching skills. I've always loved Frusciante and Flea, so I thought I would share a cool jam that is unlike most jams. Sound quality isn't the best. Hope you enjoy!

Name is Anthony, hope you may have heard this one...If not, enjoy!

This has to be one of the best performances I've seen after playing for nearly 25 years - This band is so in sync with each other! There is impressive complimentary playing as well as great guitar, bass, keyboard, and synth solos (which you dont see often). It is a long jam but I have enjoyed listening to it many times. Highly recommend!!!
Some parts I like - 3:00 intro of Frankenfoote w/ mini solo by each band member, 8:00 keyboard solo, 11:00 amazing in sync chromatic playing, 12:00 Guitar/keyboard playing, 13:30 TENSION, 16:30 song change, 18:30 epic bass solo, 20:30 breakdown, 23:00 soloing everywhere

Jason is a triple threat (guitar/vocals/lyrics) and is on fire with this performance. The lead and his control is proof he’s a modern day bad assπŸ”₯

Paco de Lucia is considered a flamenco god and this crossover with Al Di Meola shows the magic.

Thanks for the great classes Michael, I've been playing classical guitar for 9 years and you've helped me a lot to bridge the gap between playing and understanding.

Cheers!

Marcus takes over and leaves room for no one in this cover of Elizabeth Reed with Soulive and John Scofield
