PLEASE! I posted this video a while back but you never reviewed it. This is the most beautiful story and song I've ever heard, when it's playing it makes me want to get out of my car and dance in the snow. I would love to hear your take on the song. Thank you, you are an inspiration!

What a song, what a band, almost Pink Floydish.
B bender - 0:22
Background singers really into it - 3:17
Drummer into it - 3:25, you always key on drummers, what a rhythm section
Bass really into it - 6:17
Switch to bridge pickup -5:13
Josh Smith really into it - 6:07, 8:03
The chord changes, (D Db, G, Gb, Em, A), just gets to you!
"It's about the life of a man, victim time and time again, Hard as hell to get up in the morning"

Thanks for your channel, it's helped me alot.

"Thanks for clapping for Massachusetts ... I love Massachusetts." - Anjte after the song

I've loved Antje's music and art for years. I don't imagine this one will ever make an actual reaction, but I thought I'd share it with you as you both are Massachusettsans and a love of your state is what this song's all about.

Her intro and outro are short and just tell about her upcoming shows. The video was released 10 hours ago, so the shows are for now.

This band has a lot of fun lead guitar. Most of it is pretty simple as it stays in the pentatonic scale, but there's definitely something special about it. Curious to see your take on it. Thanks!

I remember you saying you enjoy coal mining tunes and this is one of my favorites. Cole is a fantastic writer and an overall great dude

I love this kind of pick strumming, playing a lead and rhythm at the same time. Really good songwriter and voice as well.

You got to do Kings X. It's absolutely baffling to me that 13 studio albums later, the world is still sleeping on these guys. By far one of the tastiest bands I've ever heard.

Allegedly they are said to have been a major influence on Pear Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, The Smashing Pumpkins, Pantera and others.

This one obviously starts off shaky, but in typical Kings X fashion, by the end of the track their groove has you all in. Almost has a Beetles vibe to it. One of my favorite tracks by them.

Appreciate your videos/lessons. Keep killin it

Such a beautiful blend of guitar and vocals. Rory is a talented guitarist who can blend some punchy acoustic guitar with the most delicate vocals.

Michael - Not sure if you've ever watched any of Antoine's videos. He is an incredible musician and teacher (much like yourself ;-)! I find his methods, chords, and melodies particularly inspiring and epic, as his focus is largely ambient. This particular video is an extremely impressive cover of "Arrival of The Birds," and while it's a little long, it is worth a watch!

Cheers!

Ian

Fun to laugh at your failures while showing you can succeed!! Great Song!!!

One of my favorite new artists. This song is very early Childers esque

Hey Michael! I watched your reaction video for Radiohead and Portishead and I thought it was a blast hearing your dissect stuff that I’ve been listening to for years. It really gave me a fresh perspective and renewed appreciation for stuff I already loved!

I’m writing on behalf of a smaller Indie band called Phourist & the Photons from Louisville, KY and I can’t help but wonder how you would react to this material. Would just love to see how someone with a ton of experience and knowledge would break down the theory for this track Nerve Dance! No worries if you’d rather not do a lesser known group, but figured I’d give it a try! Thanks a bunch!

I mean.... not sure what needs to be said about this song. It's brilliant. Very interesting chords, but of course the star of the show is the vocals.

The Mountain Grass Unit consists of three Birmingham pickers: Drury Anderson (mandolin and vocals), Luke Black (acoustic guitar and banjo), and Sam Wilson (upright bass). The Mountain Grass Unit has played music festivals, private functions and multiple music venues, playing bluegrass tunes and adding a bluegrass touch to country, jazz, funk, rock, and even metal. With the addition of Luke Black and Sam Wilson on harmonies, The Mountain Grass Unit has established the firm foundation to take on not only the vocal harmonies of traditional bluegrass tunes, but also the freedom to adapt songs from various genres to an all-acoustic format. Aside from their original songs, all three are equally comfortable restyling a Tony Rice number, a classic Grateful Dead tune, or covering contemporary acoustic masters like Billy Strings. The youthful exuberance and energy they bring to the stage is always remarkable. Their competency at what they do was best described by Birmingham music promoter Steve Masterson when the boys performed at his Acoustic CafΓ© festival: β€œThey don’t just play good for their age, they play good. Period”. Sam, Luke, and Drury are excited to share with their audiences this new and exciting musical chapter.

Not really a guitar tune but this song f*'kin gets me every time I listen to it.

I'd like to hear your take on it, and maybe what you would add to it with a little improvisation

A lot of what I get from your videos aren't just about the theory, but a lot of it is your interpretation of the emotional aspects of the msuic/themes

Hope you're well, love what you do

Powerful song about the loss and re-birth of passionate relationships, this song gives me chills every time.

In any case, the composition, dynamics, and power is something to marvel at.

This guy deserves a Grammy.

1

I suspect they had to add supports under the stage so it didn't collapse under the weight of the precision that these two play with.

Its hard to pick a favorite generational collaboration video between this one (full length version) and the one with SRV and Albert King.

Ward is a great writer and performer. Not nearly famous enough. This song is raw and emotional. Simple but moving guitar and melody. You have to bear through the first 17 seconds of crowd noise or just appreciate how Ward connects with these people.

This song was the first single by Tommy Prine, the son of the late great John Prine.

It was released in September of 2022, and proves that Tommy is a great songwriter in his own right. The lyrics are wonderful. The message is poignant, and the acoustic guitar playing is tasteful.

I would love a breakdown. Thanks!

Came across this while going through a YouTube guitar rabbit hole. I hope you enjoy it if you haven't seen it.

Just got through the first few parts of starting a new career and wanted to say hey. Happy new year.

Just a great video of Jonny here with Tommy Shannon on bass! I kinda think of him as the SRV of his time, with his speed and improv skills. Tasty Cover of BB. I dont see him getting much recognition and would love to hear your take

I don't think I've seen you react to Aurora before, so hopefully this is new. Her music isn't typical of the videos you see here since it's not guitar focused, but she's great artist! She has a lot of good originals, but I thought this cover was incredible. Hope you enjoy!

Cory Wong, Mark Lettieri, Joe Dart, Nate Smith. Two separate short performances here. They make it look so easy to groove this hard, absolutely locked in. Cory’s reactions are priceless, and this is a warm up! Michael what’s going on here? Particularly interested in Cory’s strumming technique as well as how the guitars and bass are weaving and intertwining. Not to mention how dynamic the drummer is with just a snare, bass, and hats.
