This song is a groove love the bass and drum work in this song hope you can react to it and get your take on it love what you do and love being a member you’re the reason I got back into guitar not just playing but learning

Sparse arrangement of a beautiful song. Would love to see you break this down.

Talking with you about sharing new music. These gentlemen are not only amazing musicians and graduates of Keene, they are friends. There's a lot of video of them but for some reason Joe, the guitarist always has his back to the camera. Anyways knowing you love the drums I thought you would love both Ken's drumming and Joe's wild looping and guitar technique. In a league of their own for sure.

as good as they come

Scary Pockets take a spin on numerous tunes and switches it up so that you can help but move to the groove. I’m curious to see what you pick apart from this because I don’t believe you have done this band before!

The video editing is unfortunately erratic (I wish the shot would just linger some instead of cutting all over the place unnecessarily), but the sound quality is the best I could find for a Boris live recording with professionally shot video.

This song is one of the more interesting in their catalog, with intense bursts of loud guitar coming in through a quieter song which is sung by Wata, the incredible guitarist with one of the more recognizable signature styles, and she is not typically this band's vocalist.

Mike,

Absolutely love your channel! Thank you so much for what you do. A lot of times when our band is struggling with a song you’re our go to guy. This song is a song I want to bring to the band I can never find a good lesson on the info licks and the solos. Id like to get them down before I bring it to the band but I’m not that great at playing by ear. The videos almost never show the lead guy and I would be forever grateful if you could break this down for us!

Thanks again keep doing what you do!

Chat Atkins showing off a number of different techniques. The playing is superb, but his ability to take the listener in a journey is perhaps the most striking thing about this performance.

From the days with Gary Cherone, from Van Halen III. Such an epic song, I don't care what anyone says, Gary does an amazing performance here on vocals, and Eddie is just....full of soul and powerful intensity here. Please check this one out, and do a react video to this Michael, I'd love to see your reaction and for you to break this one down a bit, to help us learn a little of Eddie's composition here. And as always, thank you for doing this and for all your hard work man, appreciate it!!

Create - 1 Video of you playing something that you feel *pretty* comfortable sharing. If you can play some rhythm and some lead over a rhythm part, that'd be ideal. Use a loop pedal if you have it!

I think you would really enjoy Robby Kriegers guitar work here. When his improvised solo comes in towards the end, his musical language is so unique and perfect for the songs theme. Would love for your thoughts and breakdown of his guitar work!

Arlo with another absolute gut punch of a tune, enough said

First off, big fan of the channel. Alright, Pony Bradshaw... Good grief! I know you have done a react of him before but I would love to hear your thoughts on this amazing version of his song "Bad Teeth". There have been several days where this song popped up on my feed and I couldn't stop listening to this version on repeat. I just can't get enough of it. The tasty lead guitar is incredible, not to mention the incredible lyrics. Sit back, and be prepared to be awed by this performance.

Hey Michael, first time requester here! Would love for you to check out this cover of The Weight by ZBB and Marcus King. The whole song is great, but man, Marcus absolutely KILLS his solo and verse. Thanks for everything you do!

Okay, so the link is time stamped for the spot that I'm referring to. Now, Jake may have very well done this on purpose. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to find that out.

Anyway, as you can hear, he hits a note that definitely doesn't sound like it's in key. What he does after that blew my mind. He then builds the solo around that note which certainly makes it sound like he did it on purpose in the first place. I would love to think that this is Jake recovering from that misplaced note.

Michael, I would love to hear your thoughts on this!

Hello Michael! I saw this guy live a few months ago and thought he was special. I hope you and your community will too. I love what you do! Keep up the great work!

Some of John Mayers best phrasing IMO.

If I had to show someone one video to demonstrate what a power house The Marcus King Band is, it would probably be this. Marcus's insane rhythm chops are combined with super unique jazzy comps, a solo that almost falls off the cliff but takes you back home in thrilling fashion, and all supported by an amazingly talented horn section keys and drums. This is a feast for the senses and something I think would be a joy to analyze for us loyal viewers!

Hi Michael,

I've been really enjoying your lessons and I can feel myself becoming a better player every day. Even random short lessons on youtube make MUCH better sense now that I have some of your theories down

Why This Song?: Humbird came to my daughter's small-town rock camp and led a songwriting workshop. So she's good people. And she's a great songwriter. I put forward this song as a counter to "Rich Men of West Virginia" which for all its emotional power and grit... leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Blame has a direction. I don't agree with "Rich Men's" direction... But I like Humbird's softer zoomed out approach. I'm also really curious about the theory in the bridge section. I struggle to write folk bridges. Humbird's is subtle, but powerful.

Thanks for all you do!

G’day Michael!

This is an Aussie band out of Perth - big riffs, bigger mullets, and some hectic lead guitar. They opened for The Darkness on their last tour to give you an idea.

Saw these guys live last night and they put on a killer show, would love to see what you think!

Cheers,
Nick

Just John and Ed both having a blast, doing a great acoustic duo of this classic. Great acoustic solo from John. Always love these guys chemistry on stage.

Hope you guys like this β€œbluegrassed” up version Jason & Sadler did of Tour of Duty.

This version of this song was the only one I absolutely hoped they played so I was elated when they did.

I recorded the video on my iPhone from the VIP section at Riverbend in Chattanooga, TN

This is the best song of their newest album. It features a killer guitar duo between Jason and Sadler Vaden. It’s basically a band with two incredible lead guitarists.
