Biography
Been playing pure rote, monkey-see monkey-do, for 22 years, but never developed my playing or theory. It's never too late to learn and apply something new.

I had a local luthier build me my dream custom thinline telecaster type guitar. It's an amazing piece of equipment. I have a Martin HD-28 and a Fender Custom Deluxe Chris Shifflet Telecaster.

I have the sound in the equipment, but relying on Michael and community to really learn to truly play with intention.

Hope you guys like this “bluegrassed” up version Jason & Sadler did of Tour of Duty.

This version of this song was the only one I absolutely hoped they played so I was elated when they did.

I recorded the video on my iPhone from the VIP section at Riverbend in Chattanooga, TN

Please forgive me for there not being guitar in this thing of beauty, but it’s an opportunity to teach us how you improvise together.

Sure hope people love it as much as I do.

Michael, sorry for your loss of Max. In line with your “saying goodbye” I think if you could do this Jeff Buckley live from Chicago version of Lover, You Should’ve Come Over, it would be great. This is one of those songs that ALWAYS hits me.

How can you beat “my kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder?”

This is a song that has a unique sound as well. I really hope you get to this one.

Back with a long overdue follow-up request since the Allen Stone Is This Love? follow up.

Kenneth does some cool stuff on that old 000-15. First little worm is at about 2:30, again at 4:08, then in the putto that I’ve always liked.

Hope you like it if you don’t already know it. Keep doing what you do.

Michael,

I know you like when people are just sitting in the pocket large enough to drive a truck through. I would love for you to break down what's going on in this video. Allen Stone has so much soul in his voice and his stuff reminds me a lot of jazz/blues infusion.

The drums starting at 3:49 are just amazing. I want to know about the musicianship on this one. This band is freaking incredible.

Keep doing what you do, man. I, and so many other members, are so grateful to have you teaching guitar.
