This may be one of the best covers youβll ever experience. Noah Gundersen is a legend in the Seattle area and heβs unbelievable live. Great sound. Great arrangement. Brilliant vocal. Gut wrenching performanceβ¦youβre welcome.
Cheers!
Can't wait to finally see Sturgill this fall. Missed out at Merriweather Outlaw fest days after he lost his voice. Thought I'd never get another chance. Shows what I know.
Please play along to my favorite Sturgill video of all time. Definitely works for metal heads as well. 100% of everything left on the floor of that studio.
Incendiary.
Second time recommending. Still an incredible interpretation by two of the living GOATS.
Hey Michael,
I thought you'd enjoy this blues rock group out of Texas. They really jam hard, and this particular tune has a groovy disco aspect to it that I think sets it apart from your usual 12-bar blues rock, and you might get a kick out of it. The video has a bit of an intro, so skip to 0:55 for the start of the music.
Best regards from my family to yours,
Joey
John's new record is incredible, Visitor is a top tier Moreland song, there is something about this one that really hits.
I follow Guthrie and Tom/Uncle Larry on YouTube and I think they are both great guitar players, so it's fun to see videos of them performing together.
There's 2 songs in the video. First one ends around 8:22 and second one starts around 9:22.
I found some of the soloing in the first song a little unorthodox, and Tom's rock faces are pretty awesome, I'd like to hear you give your 2 cents on what they might be thinking when soloing on these tunes. Thanks!
Ren's buddy Chinchilla will get you in the feels with this one. Simple yet powerful.
I only stumbled upon this artist in the last couple of years, but he has been around for a while. He has some excellent songs.... with this one being a bit of a heartbreaker.
I was surprised to not see it already posted.
Enjoy.
Matt Sweeny (Zwan) interviews Marcus King with guitar in hand and Marcus shares some of the building blocks of what made him the guitarist he is today. No way you can not watch this without smiling. Super cool insight in this one, you'll love it.
This has been requested before for good reason. Probably the best cover of a classic ABB song ever with both Jason and Sadler ripping (and Amanda too). Go ahead and geek out Michael!
Hey man. I got addicted to watching you when you reacted to Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton. If you want something in the same flavor, check out Joshua Ledet in his American Idol days absolutely SLAY this song (complete with awesome horn runs).
PS - Love your lessons too!
Hey Michael, I haven't requested anything in a long while, but my love for Johnny Hickman, the lead guitarist of Cracker has forced me to send this one up. I'm always amazed at his range of techniques and sounds. I'd love to hear your take on this guy, and his input on this song, and I don't think you will be disappointed. As always, I hope you are well! Thanks for your consideration!
Ok Michael how about this. Two absolute monsters, two monster songs. I would love for you to break it down, especially Guthrie's first solo. Tom's first solo is unbelievable as well. Hope you enjoy, but come on now, you probably know you're going to, just by seeing the names.
Matt
Hey Michael - I know you like reggae, so here is a Brazilian reggae artist singing part of the song in Portuguese and part in English, joined by a few old Jamaicans in the recording studio. Beautiful voice from both singers and very good reggae vibes. I love the vampire laughing noises from Congo, the Jamaican. The song is about the system keeping the poor communities down; very similar theme to Bob Marley's "Babylon System", but original lyrics and music from this artist.
Would love to see you react to this
Hi Michael, I'd love to watch you react to this performance from a legendary songwriter and great acoustic finger-picker who is unfortunately not very well-known, especially within the younger generations. Thanks for all you do, your community is helping me break through a long-time plateau with my picking.
Need more SKA! The brass section and overall composition of this song is top tier and they execute it to perfection. Timing and a band being on the same page is a common thread of a great live band. This band speaks to that.
Holy hell! Just pit the guitar down...and listen.
She's incredible!
Michael,
Have been keeping ear out on Shane Smith and the Saints for a while. When I saw a live video series, I had to hit the button. One of the biggest sounds Iβve heard from a one-guitar band and a great example of a top tier band all around.
Michael, I've sent you covers from this guy before (SRV reincarnated). This is an original and it's smokin' hot!
I love this guy, easily my favorite recording.
Hey Michael, I am not sure if this fits in to your typical reacts style, but I thought I would send this one over anyway. This version nails essence of the song without doing anything crazy. I am always impressed when something so simple can be so powerful.
My favorite version of this song, rare to see Colin play acoustic and itβs worth a watch.

Good god almighty, the funk is it's own reward baby! This kind of funk needs no description. Sit back and enjoy the ride with some of the absolute best musicians on this planet!
