This one pushed all of my buttons. The pure joy that is expressed in this piece is mesmerizing. I know Sierra Hull was just featured, but this was one of the few times where even though I went to put this on "in the background" my whole world stopped for nine and a half minutes. The combo of funk, jazz and bluegrass fully captivated me. The totally nasty bass solo in the middle is something to behold. The control of the band, the way they flow in and out of required parts live. Pros all around!

Joe Bonamassa takes his Esquire and Amp and sits on with Guthrie Trapp and company for bar gig. The rhythm section is locked in and they are grooving hard and in the zone.
I would love if you could break down the hook, generally what is going on and what makes this groove so infectious.
Even the Rev Billy G pays a visit and gives an approving nod!
Thanks Michael!

Everything great about independent country - fun/creative/interesting lyrics; 2 awesome singers; and a band that’s clearly played plenty of gigs, even if it’s not for lots of money. Love these dudes!

An awesome guitarduo from Mexico. The rhythm and strumming is just something that really catches your attention here. I believe Gabriela has an online course on how to play the rhythm like she does. Perfect execution and a great melodic tune.

Joni, Pat, Lyle and Jaco - Coyote

Rhythm guitar

Knowing your dedication to song writing, I'd love to hear you break down a Joni Mitchell track. Personally, when I hear people talk about great song writers, they often rattle off a few giants and then remember Joni and rewrite their lists with her at the very top. She recently had a brain aneurism and forgot how to sing and play. Since then she tougher herself again from scratch and just played Newport at age 78. This recording is with a very good band. Pat Metheny, Lyle Mays and Jaco among others. Not many singer/song writers have been able to field so much talent.

Davy Knowles playing his song Hell To Pay from his latest album What Happens Next. Davy normally has been playing his telecaster, but for this one, he used his new Silver Sky he was gifted recently.
It's an incredibly delicious groove by all three band members here, and lead guitar playing is awesome as well! Great lesson in playing dynamically! You gotta check this one out Michael! Thanks!

Michael,
This is the concert and song that first introduced me to Warren Haynes and ultimately inspired me to pick up the guitar in the first place. The multiple soulful solos that Warren does to this cover, augmented by the incredible supporting talent on the stage has created an ear worm that I can’t shake still to this day 20 years later. Would be thrilled to hear your reaction and analysis of this performance. I hope you are as mesmerized by it as I have been since I first heard it that summer night in Central Park. Thank you and look forward to watching your reaction.
