There's a lot of genre's covered on by reacts but I have not seen any that have focused a lot on classical guitar and/or flamenco. I love Jesse Cook and this tune in particular and would love to get Michael's break down and take on it.

Great lyrics, amazing solos and some serious stretching on some of the chords! From an amazing concert. Enjoy!

An underrated band who at the same time is huge globally, and a well regarded performance from way back in 1991. Manhattan Skyline is a song from their 2nd album Scoundrel Days released in 1986.

Michael! The true definition to the best of both worlds in this video. I remember listening to Willie Nelson with my dad as a little kid. Now, we get this amazing duet with Billy Strings. Billy even gets a chance to play the legendary "Trigger".

This song has been stuck in my head for days. The playing all around is badass (that slide player!). So much to smile about here. I think you and your subscribers will agree!

Just a great sad song from a great band, hearing this song live last week was one of the best concert experiences I've ever had

Amazing cover!!!

Packy is an amazing musician, producer and himan from Chicago. He is currently touring with Theo Katzman, is a member of I Fight Dragons and has numerous other projects including his own solo work.

Just love the Funk Baratone.

I'm sure you've heard of Andy Timmons, but have you heard of Tommy Katona? Normally you'll see him with his band Texas Flood as SRV reincarnated. He's an amazing player and this duo got together recently to add a new dimension to the Gary Moore classic. Check it out!

Michael and Guitar Gate friends: I've been going deep on the jam thing lately and am convinced the recent Phish Berkeley shows represent some of the finest of the form! This insane 1 HOUR Tweezer into Simple is pure gold in terms of virtuosic improvisation, crowd connection, and musical exploration. There is A LOT of music in here, so the format may not work for a REACTS Request. Highly recommend anyone give a listen who likes the deep jam thing. Check out around 25 mins and then again for the next segment around 35 mins. We get weird!

Great band keeping guitar-centric music alive and relevant. The ending is the best part!

I know how you like underrated Canadians. Here's a true gem! I could have sent a number of tracks - I highly recommend going down the rabbit hole. Really like the guitar on this one.

To be fair there are few words I can say that can do justice to these three. Zach, Brian, Kanene. Transformative musicians. I couldโ€™ve listed a dozen songs but this, this my friends is the pinnacle.
Whole trio technique - perfectly placed rhythm, harmony, song craft. Itโ€™s all there.
Michael, thereโ€™s perhaps only a few examples in my 40-odd years of living for music that raise every hair on the back of my neck the way this can.
This one brings the tears, too. Utter joy.
I hope the rising vocal peak hits you the way it hits me. Storytelling at its finest. Recommend you check out the studio version too.

His most performed song, Stevie Ray Vaughan style, like SRV always performed differently, here in a very relaxed mood

Scary Pockets funk with Joe Bonamassa? What's not to like? Awesome groove, tasteful playing!

Who doesn't love The Man in Black!!!!! and who doesn't love one pioneer of Punk Rock Social Distortion amping it up and playing it as only Social Distortion can!!!!! Mike Ness is such a cool dude and I want to be like him when I grow up!

One of the coolest bands coming out of Ireland at the moment.
Thanks dude.
Adam Evans.

Another Steve Rothery classic. Tasty, melodic lead playing FOR THE SONG. And what a song it is! Anyone who thinks Marillion only wrote about Hobbits and trolls needs to check their later stuff out (including this gem). Pure bliss.

An absolutely beautiful tune and even better performance. This is a textbook example of the saying that music is the language everyone understands. I got something in my eye watching this...

Nina Gerber is not well known to most guitarists. But she is well known to musicians in the contemporary and indie folk, folkrock and country music world. Played with the likes of Jackson Brown, John Gorka, and Ry Cooder.
If you want to learn how to play melodically with class and great tone, study her chops. Truly a wonderful example that you don't have to shred to be a really great guitarist.

Hey Michael,

Wanted to start by saying thanks for the channel and lessons. I'm currently running through the Jam Band Primer, and it transforming the way I view the fretboard. Total game changer.

One part of that course that has stuck with me is when you mention to think like a singer as you compose solos and melodies. And the first recent album that came to mind is the Krasno/Moore Project - Book of Queens (Eric Krasno and Stanton Moore). The album covers songs from prominent female artists, and Kraz gives a masterclass on playing vocal-style melodies.

One of my favorite songs from this album is a cover of Kacey Musgrave's "Slow Burn". Check out the original, and then hear how Kraz beautifully interprets her vocal lines on guitar. It's full of tasty triads/diads connected by pentatonic licks, just like you teach in the Jam Band course.

Thanks again for all you do!

- Brad V

Hi Michael - let's expand the listening palette! Grammy-award winning Arooj Aftab has become an obsession in the last couple of years. Her band's come in many different incarnation, but always with staggeringly good musicians. Suroor is all so lovely, but really kicks off at 2:35 when Maeve Gilchrist on harp and Gyan Riley exchange some fabulous solos.

I had never heard of Dean Johnson, but I watch every video WesternAF posts and my god this is amazing

Hey Michael, just recently joined Guitargate and haven't seen many requests for FKJ. This guy's a multi-instrumentalist loop master. Killer sax, guitar, keyboard, and more, I think you'd really get a kick out of this one.

Love the channel and all you do for the music community,

Noah
