Amazing solo and just overall lead by Clapton. One of my most favorite live performances, everything about it is great. He has such great phrasing and dynamics.

Greatest bar band of all time and Big Al is a hell of guitar player
Someday we will be this type of society again. ๐คThe queen one is a trip...Can have tons of rhythm players but taking lead is for the select few.
2:38 King of the Past
7:50 California Dreamline
13:55 Claire
26:50 Dope Fiends and Boozehounds (*incredible*)
Canadian singer-songwriters of the past like Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and Gordon Lightfoot have clearly made an impact on this bunch yet the music has a "post punk; post new wave" approach with a touch psychedelia. Incredibly eclectic with their Beachboy-like harmonies and soaring electric guitar (the Song of Flight instrumental designed to mimic the sound of whales singing).
Those that love the Rheostatics really LOVE them. Here we have the three singer-songwriters supported by keys, violin and as always a great drummer, returning for a live performance to the Historic Massey Hall in Toronto after many years away from touring.
They service the songs and support each other. Martin forgets lyrics half way through Cali Dreamline and they pull it together to warm the audience up for another dynamic show like we always remember.
Beautiful stuff that you probably do not get many requests for.
The first two songs are incredibly dynamic and visual. "Claire" is the only hit in Canada.
Just love this

Hey there,
Here is a fantastic cover of an old Hag tune turned blues. There is some fantastic playing and perfect teletones going on here. Some very unique approaches to the neck here as well. You'll dig it. Promise.
Two masters of hot club working their magic
Hey Michael, thanks for having me on the livestream tonight that was awesome. I love the concept and hope you do it again. Anyways, considering you own a Silver Sky I can only imagine you've already seen this video, BUT I'm curious to see how much of it you can grab. I've been trying to learn some of these licks for a long time and still can't even get close. This might be the best slow blues I have ever heard and I would love to see you take it on. Thanks!
May I recommend a follow up Goose review? Hereโs a live video of โTumbleโ from February of this year in San Francisco. Itโs a bit longer, nearly twenty minutes but this is a song where they really โshow their tailsโ as the old bluegrass pickers would say. This band has all the makings of something really special. Great songwriting, great vocals, loads of little hooks and tricks. Theyโre sneaky good! Enjoy!!
Michael,
Brian Setzer is one of the all time greats that brought back not one, but two, musical styles. He effortlessly mixes blues, jazz and country into his own blend of rockabilly. He's given lessons to some of the greatest guitar players like Marty Friedman. And the best, I've seen him play the same song with different voicings every time. Many of his videos are low quality, but I found this of him solo that shows all his techniques combined. Many times it sounds like he's playing call and response between his voice and guitar.
I've watched you do hours on bands I don't even like just to hear your breakdowns. Please talk about Setzer, specifically the chord shapes he chooses.
Hey, just joined your site and love it. Was self taught and been playing for more than 15 years, know every note on the guitar (can play every octave), scales, chords, but I did your octave lesson, and it made something click. It just provided me with a completely different perspective, and look forward to going through your other lessons.
Anyway, I have a request. It is Row Jimmy from the Grateful Dead 5/8/77. I love Jerry's slide on the lead and would like to know what is going on.
Thanks!!!
Also, loved your Billy Strings videos.
Hey Michael. When you reacted to the cover of Summertime by Billy Strings and Marcus King, you specifically called out Marcusโ jazz chords and abilities. This version of him playing Wildflowers and Wine is great - very reserved yet also jazzed out and awesome. There is a lot going on here. It would be cool to hear you break this down. -Luke
I saw Tyler Childers and Sturgil Simpson in Birmingham this year before the quarantine cancelled everything. Tyler played this Jam towards the end of his set and it is just so money. his band clicks really well but man this is good. have tried a few times to recommend in comments and live streams but I joined your site 1 because I am a huge fan of your work and 2 so you could check this out! I hope you like it!
Absolute banger from up and coming jam band, Goose. Would love to hear your take on the lead guitar and dynamics between the band to create and release tension.
The band where every album name is a palindrome! You'll love Rob Compa's guitar and the band as a whole. Very good stuff.
