I am excited to hear what your take is on Nils Lofgren's solo at the 4:08 mark in this video. I was there when this was recorded and was left mouth hanging open when Bruce let him just go - much like when Tom Morello first played Ghost of Tom Joad with the band in 2008.

The two things that strike me when revisiting this is 1) the dynamics of the tension and release that Nils builds with his solo over a surprising long solo (for a Springsteen tune), and 2) Nils' technique, which appears rather unique.

Thank you for doing these Michael - I love listening to your take on these vids.

I love the dynamics in the performance, there’s so much space for everything to breathe

Good lord almighty.. This is an absolute masterclass in rhythm guitar by Sharkey. The energy, the vibes, the band.. this is "it" right here man. Isaiah is a true virtuoso with the absolute best dynamics in the business and he makes it look truly effortless. Sit back and enjoy!

REACTED TO

Having followed the jamband world for the vast majority of my life I can say with confidence that what took place at Radio City Music Hall last night may have been one of the scene’s most historic moments. Since discovering Goose about 2 years ago and diving into their work with both feet I quickly formed the opinion (as many others) that Goose is the β€œthird coming”. The future of the scene; standing on the shoulders of the Grateful Dead and Phish. Jerry Garcia passed away in the Summer of 1995 so the opportunity for him to sit-in with Phish never took place. (Not sure he would have entertained the idea anyway). Trey Anastasio did play with the Grateful Dead for a few shows but what took place last night was a monstrous event as Goose is smoking hot in their ascension right now. Trey sitting-in with them is historic. This video is long, featuring performances of Hungersite off the brand new Goose album Dripfield and crowd favorite Arcadia. Please pick some sample of this 51 minute video to dive into. Thank you as always for your continued passion for music. Hey hey, my my, rock n roll will never die.
All the best,
Lucky Gallops
