Biography
Hi,
I’m Paul, I have always loved guitar and guitar based music since I was a kid growing up in Wales. My first introduction was via a best friend’s older brother, who had a beat up old les Paul copy that he would lets us play around on, playing smoke on the water on one string, and in the wrong key. I was hooked!(Thank you Russel James). Since then the prominence of the guitar has come and gone throughout periods of my life.
I have come to love/appreciate all kinds of music, but if I had to narrow it down Blues, Classic Rock and Country are my go to genres .
I started to take “actually learning” the instrument more seriously in recent years after a tragic event in my and my family’s life.
My son Michael, died in a car accident in 2008 leaving us devastated and my soul empty. He was just seventeen.I can honestly say if I hadn’t picked up a guitar and lost myself for a few moments each day at that time,I don’t think I would be here today.
As the years have gone by I discovered the YouTube phenomenon and Guitargate! (There weren’t any personal computers when I was a kid). Throwing myself into learning has really helped me focus through some tough times. Thank you Michael Palmisano (I hope you will never know how much you, and your channel have helped me).
