SRV live on MTV unplugged. The whole set is amazing but I picked this one specifically because of the aggression and accuracy in his picking hand, and would love to hear your take on it.

I just came across this guy. He has an awesome sound, reminds me a little of Dead South. Gritty and raw. I hope youβll check it out! Thanks
The strumming, the melodic linear leads, the tone, itβs all so good! Hope you get a chance to learn this one. Enjoy!

Two prodigies blending jazz, hip hop, and breakbeats.
I'll let her talent speak for itself, Michael. She's quick, musical and fun. I love how she follows her songlines with her guitar. Great artist!
Long time listener, first time subscriber. King Buzzo of the Melvins is epic. A few years back he came out with a solo acoustic album. Just a man and his guitar. Love the whole album, but this jam just sticks in your head. Check it out. I would love to see your reaction. Thank you.
I randomly stumbled across this guitarist a few months back, and I have to say... Lucas Brar is fantastic, and he deserves more recognition. Check him out!
Hey Michael! Ive been a long time fan and lifetime member for about the last 6 months. I love all the help you've provided to guitarist far and wide! I am a 22 year old singer/songwriter/guitarist and producer. I'd love for you to check out this original song of mine, it just uses the same looping chord progression, but it would be fun to see you map that out for people to try! I am obsessed with every part of the process of making a grid song from engineering to session playing to mixing to songwriting! This song is super important to me because it is basically me screaming at myself to stay grounded, and hold onto life despite the intense depression that brings me down so much (but it feels like I'm floating away). I really worked hard to get those huge iconic 70s harmonies going in it, and I think you will dig it! It would mean the world to me to hear what you think of this. Thanks so much for what you do!!!! Take care Michael!
I was lucky enough to catch The Band a few times with and without Robbie Robertson and they were incredible live!! Better with Robbie for sure and we will miss him massively!! RIP Robbie. Just love this song so very much. Danko's vocals! Robbie's tasty leads! The harmonies! The Last Waltz is a must see for music fans.
Definitely time for round two with Band-Maid. Check out the duels going on in this song!
I think it's a great example of why they are growing in popularity. They're all killer musicians having a great time on stage.
Hey Michael,
I discovered Julian Lage a few months ago. His sound is amazing and Iβm in awe of the sounds he can get with just his fingers. Impressive for sure. He inspires me to slow down and be more purposeful with my playing. Check this one out!
Ian
Killer tune from an amazing band out of London. I think the guitar player has since moved on, but this is a masterclass!
What an absolute perfect solo by Chris Buck! Love this song!
Michael, love the channel.
This tune is far from fresh or famous. But has a story that left a smile on my face. I hope it does for you and the community. Appreciate all, Ben.
Hey Michael new GuitarGate member here! I would love to get your analysis of this amazing performance. The musicianship is just unmatched. I've seen you react to other Grace Potter stuff and I gather you're as much of a fan of hers as I am. And of course, let's not forget the myth the man the legend that is Joe Satriani who delivers a tasteful and contained masterclass in feeling and technique. I expect that you have already seen this performance but if you haven't oh boy are you in for a treat!
When I find myself in a world of hurt, this man is my balm. Beauty in simplicity. Beyond the lyrics and overall vibe, what strikes me in this performance are dynamics and consistency. The right-hand is smooth and unwavering and I feel it creating the calm the song speaks of. Avi Kaplan never disappoints.
An incredible cover of Neal Casal's "All the Luck in the World" played on the 4-year anniversary of his death. There were storms in the area on this Huntsville summer night and it brought an eerie but comfortable breeze through the otherwise sweltering Orion amphitheater. This was the first time Billy played this tune live and you could feel the emotion. "They say that they wish you all the luck in the world......but you know they'd love to see you fall." Relatable lyrics by Casal played beautifully by his friend Billy.
Blues rock absolutely amazing saxophone solo too?!
Pick any song. π€
It's hard for me to pick a favorite Frank Turner song, but this is one of those songs that I come back to again and again. I think part of that is because of the journey it takes you on. Frank is one of those special few that can really use words and sounds to paint a picture in your mind and make you feel like you could be there. I've been the places this song talks about several times, and I bet many others have been as well.
Possibly my all time favorite of theirs. Lets keep the 90s rolling!
Soul/R&B meets Renegade Country
Phish with Derek Trucks...that pretty much says it all!
Johnny Clayton Mayer and the Dead playing a blues classic. Would love to hear your take on this dirty blues version. Please and thank you.
