Brian Blade, a name that speaks for itself in the world of music and dissolves all borders of genre. A name that is on a mile long, single column, 12 pt size font discography including names like Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Norah Jones, Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, Kenny Garret, Herbie Hancock, Chris Potter, etc... A name that is owned by a man far too humble to list off his accomplishments and STILL manage to be an influence to entire generations of drummers, song-writers, and musicians alike. Brian Blade is primarily known for being behind the kit and supporting jazz/r&b musicians with an absolute tenderly bombastic touch, so much the music seems to play itself. In this tune however, he puts on his guitar, singer-songwriter, Americana, alt-rock, (whatever you want to call it) hat with the same affection. I know it's a long one, but I promise it will not disappoint.

As a fellow music educator, I want to thank you for all that you do. I started watching your videos during the beginning of January 2020 and you were the last thing I started watching seriously before the world shut down, so thank you for being there during the hard times, you were a real uplifter and kept a positive light on my view as an educator. All the best, Scottie.

An awesome guitarduo from Mexico. The rhythm and strumming is just something that really catches your attention here. I believe Gabriela has an online course on how to play the rhythm like she does. Perfect execution and a great melodic tune.

A three piece band that has everything you need, Small Town Titans has a gift for conveying story and realness... while also being able to kick some ass. I highly recommend their entire body of work, but based on what you've shared about your own journey, I'm recommending Doorbell as it might resonate. Love the channel and keep on keeping on.

John 5 is an astounding guitar player. John originally played this on a classical guitar and is a brilliant piece of music. Here he plays it on his trusty Tele and still gives one hell of a performance of this masterpiece. The lighting is a little sketchy, but it's because he always plays on a darkly lit stage or with darker color lights. Hard to believe he got his start playing backup guitar for KD Lang and made several jumps from there 2wo, DLR Band, Marilyn Manson, Loser, and Rob Zombie. While John brings a certain flare to everything he does, it's in his solo work where we really see what John brings to the guitar community and this piece is just one of many times he puts his guitar work on display.

My wife and I have been on a movie kick lately. It was her turn to pick the other night and she chose Garden State which I had never seen before. This song was in the movie and introduced with the quote "You gotta hear this one song, it'll change your life I swear." I'm not sure if it will change my life, but it's definitely been stuck in my head ever since. I love how simple this is.
