I’ve always loved this song. Stewart’s descriptive you-are-there lyrics and White’s propulsive, hypnotic guitar work is a great combination. Peter White is an under appreciated master of the guitar! Hope you get a chance to hear this. Would love to hear your thoughts! You’re the best Michael!!

Starts at 1:05 . . .honestly, her vibe had just a tad-bit too much reverb for me ***UNTIL***
seeing the pure passion of her performance (in this video) - and realizing that she's doing it ALL

(....and that solo is soooo fluid around the 10:10 loop tap...)

Please give this one a listen - only the first 3 minutes since after that the artist breaks the song down for those wanting to learn. His left hand chord, bass, and melody fingering is dizzying to watch and this video gives a close up look at what he's doing.

I first heard this song on a Guitar Player magazine flexible record insert.

"In the July 1988 issue of Guitar Player Magazine Brad Jones was announced as the winner of Guitar Player Magazine's Soundpage Competition. Brad recorded his song "Back Porch Boogie" on a cheap K-Mart cassette tape and a boom box, entered the contest on a whim and won. Brad received a Gold Record for this song and it also earned him an invitation to play at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society Convention in Nashville. A vinyl record of Brad's winning song was included with the magazine."

Hi Michael and everyone else that makes up GuitarGate,
This community has been very important to me, for reasons to numerous to mention. But, this is one. Anytime I want it or need it, I can click a link and reliably know that someone else out there listens, feels and maybe plays the way I do. I wanted to refill the well, since I dip so frequently. I need to recheck the rules, but I hope my video is admissable.

A very special person in my life introduced me to this now International super star from Iceland. I love most everything he does. His delicate voice rides through vocal harmonies in this "Folktronic" track strictly on guitar. The lyrics, in translation, become even more resonant. I have often listened to this song as an apology or a dedication of one man, woman or lover to another. I would really enjoy sharing this music with you and everyone.

I feel like Mapache deserves some love! They really seem to keep their songs interesting with different tempos and sections within the songs. With just their fantastic voices and two guitars they really create a full sound. On top of all of that, it's always interesting to watch a lefty play with a guitar strung up for a righty!
