I would love to be able to play country guitar. I tried for an hour to come up with something to make this sound country and just couldn't do it. I ended up just clucking the A and figured I might come back to this another day.

This was a great exercise for switching chord-grips quickly and accurately, hybrid grabs, and rhythm. Each track took me several takes (I am shooting for 1 take on these assignments by the end of the year).

I love how Michael refers to the chords and the melody components by interval numbers. This assignment started with the "C shape" for D#/Eb (the 1-chord), so it was really good to have to think about the 4, 5 and 6 chords from this perspective. I am used to starting with an E-shape 1-chord, so this was another very beneficial trip outside of my comfort zone.

Here is my second attempt. Still struggling with rhythm and tone. As a test, I tried plugging the guitar directly into the Teleport without my Headrush Flex Prime in between. Let me know what you think regarding tone between this post and the one before. Please comment if you have any tips on tone.

This one was really hard for me. I just couldn't get the rhythm. Posting the assignment, but I will probably come back to it as I grow musically.

I have started us off with the Eagles version of Please Come Home for Christmas. This first upload just has a drum, bass, and keyboard, all on the 4th track. It needs: Rhythm Guitar, Melody, and Lead Guitar.

I am still slow and a little tentative, but I am able to get the melody in my head out through my fingers now, which is an amazing feeling.

Okay, don't laugh, but I just made a discovery that many other students probably already knew or figured out. Through this exercise, I discovered not only do the root and the six-chord have the same pentatonic scale shape as each other (relative major minor pair), the scale shape for 2 and the 4 are the same, and the 3 and the 5 are the same (yes?)

I am slow to see the shapes because they are still new to me, so my approach is a bit timid. I am excited to get these internalized, so my flow is faster.
