Michael this video is powerful. Travis Tritt pays tribute to Waylon Jennings by doing a mashup of some of Jennings biggest hits. Tritt is able to take some basic cowboy chords and turn it into something really special. I think every acoustic player should see this and I’m very interested to hear your take on it!

Hey Michael, I was wondering if you could take a look at this live version of “Free Bird.” The intro for the song while iconic is relatively simple, however, it would be fun for you to breakdown how all of the guitar parts harmonize with each other. Bands with three guitarist are interesting to me, and I would like like to get a better understanding of all the moving parts that are going on.

Michael you know I’m a big nerd for blues guitar. One of the names that I’ve heard but I have never took the time to listen to was T-Bone Walker. I found this track of his and I immediately got a taste of both the blues and early rock n roll. I could tell from watching that T-Bone Walker was truly an electric guitar pioneer. It will be fun to hear you break this down and explain just how blues music influenced Rock n Roll.

What is really great about this video is that all the individual parts come together to form a familiar melody. Wes’s technique with the way that he was harmonizing with the piano, and when he took the lead and solo’d while still complimenting the band were both major take aways for me. Some really cool harmonies in this one..... as well as some snazzy suits.

I have always heard that BB King was one of the best Blues guitarists ever. I would listen to his songs but I never could get into it. Then I heard this song, I realized that BB had a tone that was completely unique to him and a vocal presence that demanded any audience. I now understand why people say he was the best! He’s on my Mount Rushmore of Blues players alongside Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Johnson, and Muddy Waters. This is one of my favorite BB King songs and by far my favorite live performance from him!
