Originally from small town of Crowville, Louisiana, grew up listening to traditional country, such as Hank Williams Sr, Johnny Cash, George Jones, etc, and old country gospel and blues. Started playing in my teens, couldn't afford classes, so self taught as much as I could learned simple songs. My early 20's picked the guitar up every once an while, I put it down for almost 20 years after fulfilling a promise to my father. I played his 3 most favorite songs at his funeral, and vowed I would never pick up another guitar. Years later my wife bought me a guitar and wanted me to start playing, but it was difficult as age has taken some toil on me and my memory of what I knew. So I picked a few old songs I knew and had fun, but she had more in mind for me. She would tell people at church I could play, and eventually I was asked to play a special. I enjoyed it and wanted to learn and play more. I am currently in our praise and worship band at church and enjoy playing again. I struggle with things and I try to overcome them. I would love to be able to play more effectively, and be able to make the music come alive for people like it has always done for me. Music is and will always be a love of mine and a healer for those who need it.
