I practiced the minor scale in a couple of different keys and recorded this video in the key of Bm. I was messing around with different rhythms for the loop and wound up with this. I really like the sound of the minor scale and though i didn't catch any on video i found a couple of notes outside of the scale that sounded really good. I was focusing on hitting the chord tones and switching notes appropriately with the chord changes. I'm learning my gear as well and trying to hone in on tones that sound good for recording.

Minor scales Em and Am.

I'm practicing in the key of E with a I vi ii V progression. I have been working on hybrid picking over the last couple of months and I'm really having fun with it so i used it in the loop. I did my best to mix the pentatonic scales and arpeggios while frequently adding the 2 additional notes in the major scale.

I am going to have to spend some time practicing legato runs. This was more difficult for me than i was expecting. Things felt a little forced so i will need to try and include them more often.

Major Scale shapes key of C and A........ I just realized that if you take the pentatonic shapes that correspond with the major I, IV, and V chords and put them together you have the major scale. That is why you can change pentatonic shapes with the chord changes. The notes all fall in the diatonic scale. I am still trying to completely make sense of this.

I recently discovered Hvetter on youtube so i bought a delay and reverb pedal. I thought I would try them out for this lesson. I did a I, vi, ii, IV progression in the key of D (D, Bm, Em, G). I did my best to blend arpeggios with the pentatonic scale for each chord. It took MANY attempts to get a video and sound i was happy with but it was good practice. Also i posted a Hvetter video in the REACTS requests.... just sayin :)

I came across this guy recently and think he is great! This is a killer performance but he has tons of looping and guitar videos that are all good. He is great guitarist and can work those effects so well that I had to pick up a delay and reverb pedal so i can practice with my looper.

Chose chords up the neck of the guitar and tried to keep the positions as close to each other as possible. I was focusing on changing the pentatonic scale along with each chord change. Also trying to bring out the root note with each change.
