How would all of you fantastic musicians feel about a songwriting challenge?
I have an idea for a song. I was listening to a podcast this morning with Clint Black interviewing Luke Combs. Luke was asked a question about the music that got him into playing. He listed some well known tracks and then followed it up by saying "the only thing wrong with those songs, they don't have my name on them."
If you are interested in the challenge... write lyrics to represent Luke's statement. It doesn't need to be word for word, just the meaning behind it.
Post as a reply in the "Challenges" group. We'll count the vote tally by "Hearts" for each reply... and then we (whoever would like to participate) will make the song come to life.

This is a song that I am finalizing. My buddy Keith going to add some bass. There is a spot in the middle of the song for a solo.
Iād love to hear what you would do for the solo! Or also any fills in the song! Maybe your recording inspires me!
There are chord (Ideas) and lyrics here for this song I was trying to write after Neal Casal committed suicide. My father also committed suicide in 1990 by the same means. Song is about whats left behind in a suicide. Anyway thats the jist of tune. In the drive below you can see the lyrics and ive chicken scratched in some chords where the changes are roughly. Im clueless about songwriting but ive got this one (1 of 2)
