Want to say how much I appreciate you, my friend. & what you’ve contributed to my musical journey. You said in a recent video, β€œActively listen to find out the why behind what you love.” John Mayer said something similar, that really stuck with me.

This song hits me right in the feels.

PLEASE! Ive been waiting for someone that know music theory to do a reaction video for this band. Id like it broken down if its not too much on the brain.

One of the most known modern psychedlic bands around, the jam in this version is aboslutely hypnotizing. Appreciate the lessons!

Incredible performance by a group of immensely talented musicians. Jeff and Imogen are stars, but this is nothing without the huuuuge rhythm section. Imogen shows a mastery of band awareness and Jeff Beck is simply Jeff Beck.

I definitely don't expect a reaction video on this, but it's an awesome concert and I hope some more people get to see it if I put it here!

Great London based band Kokomo. Recruited in 1975 by Bob Dylan on his album Desire.
The part I would love a REACTS request for is from 1.07 onwards.. a cover of Harlem Shuffle and a solo by Jim Mullen who has a really interesting right thumb technique.. what's going on there?

Many thanks, loving the guitar course btw.. learnt more in two lessons than most of the blues course on Fender PLAY. LOVE your approach and push to dig deeper into what's behind the surface of music. Lead the way I'm hooked!

Kindest Regards, Richard Byford London UK.

Michael, as a guitar player who thought he could not improve and was just complacent in my abilities. I found Guitar Gate (through YouTube) and have learned so much from you already so thank you. I came across this young lady from Sweden. She has many videos, I picked one. I happen to think she is insanely gifted

Check this out. A blind Canadian bluesman who plays in his lap.

These guys have so many good live studio recordings on YouTube and this is my favorite. The way they mix the two guitars in and out is baffling to me. Check it out!

Hi Michael,
first of all, thank you for your website, lessons and reactions. It brought the spark back into my playing. I enjoy spending time with your lessons and reactions. I admire Philip Sayce as he is working hard and is always positive (like you :) ). I always wanted to be able to play something similar to 5:55 and would be great to get some insights from you.

Kat made the Tuesday night list a while back. This song is too long for the live show bc you need to listen to it all the way through. The look on her face at the closing note of the song is crushing...very clear that the song is so very REAL to her. HEAVY, indeed. I know you like heartfelt songs, Michael...this will not disappoint! Enjoy!

Whenever someone wants to see a good music video or something live this is the first thing I go to. There's something about the playing and the feel that really let me connect to this song and really feel the music.

As a new member here, I thought I'd introduce myself by sharing one of my favorite recordings ever. This was an outtake/bonus track from Jerry Garcia, David Grisman and Tony Rice's "The Pizza Tapes." In it, you can hear Jerry asking for some Snapple and a shot of Slivovitz before Tony offers his legendary Herringbone Martin D-28 (58957) to Jerry to play: "You know what, Garcia, you outta play this motherf**er."

It's a super cool interaction between two of the greatest guitarists ever and adds to the legacy of that D-28, arguably one of the most famous acoustic guitars ever (next to Willie Nelson's Trigger and Neil Young's Hank).
Great article about the guitar here: https://www.fretboardjournal.com/features/58957-tony-rice-and-his-holy-grail-martin-d-28/

Dear Michael, finally made it to Guitar Gate! Waited too long... thanks for giving me so much during this Covid mess.

You’re gonna flip out when you see this!

Looking forward to sticking around and start playing again!

Ever get any requests for these guys? Funk/jazz band from Leeds, England whose main inspiration is The Meters. Started out playing dance clubs in England and were surprised when they came across the pond that audiences wanted them to stretch tunes out longer than 3:30 minutes. They thought, at first, that it was self indulgent but hey the customer is always right!

Just some understated groove/funk and three guys having a really good time.

I know you love some Bluegrass so here’s 4 people and a microphone. All of these players are exceptional and know how to share space and one microphone. The track starts at around 13:30

Thanks for all your content. Hope you enjoy

Hi Michael - I found you via your Reacts videos on YouTube and am a new member of the Guitar Gate community; this is my first time sharing a request. I wanted to share - and admit to you - that I ignored YouTube suggestions to watch your videos for a long time, thinking they were just a gimmick to get clicks. Not too long ago, I finally watched one (and, subsequently, almost all of them).

I want to happily declare I was wrong.

Not only are your videos and lessons informative, insightful, and valuable - but, more than that, your passion for the craft and art of music is inspiring. It is your ability to let us in on your joy that truly resonates with me (and I'm sure many others). As a self-taught guitarist who now needs to go back and learn the foundations of the art - I've never found theory to be more relatable. Keep it up!

Anyway, I know you've reviewed John Mayer before, but I've always found this track to be interesting in the way it turns from a melodic piano-driven structure to blues-based guitar rock. Hope you enjoy as much as I do.

Hey Michael! Brand new to GuitarGate, and have spent the last couple days binging your reaction videos on YouTube! Thought I would take the opportunity to share one of my all time favorite artists with you. All I can say is that Foy's music truly makes me feel at home. Anyways.. hopefully you enjoy this track as much as I do.

Looking forward to diving into your course and dusting off that guitar I've neglected for too long as life has kept getting busier. All the best, and thank you for all the time and effort you put in to all you do.
