Thanks for everything you do first and foremost. Your my favorite because of how much of a P-funk fan you are and they don't get enough credit for their place in music. Check out this version of "Soul Mate" by Funkadelic played by D'angelo. Beautiful song! Its a short video but there seems to be a lot to unpack regardless. Hi Mike. My good friend turned me on to "The Rev" a few years ago and we had the awesome experience of seeing him and his Big Damn Band at the intimate Daryl's House Club in Pawling, NY sitting front row. And WOW - his voice, guitar playing and the energy level of the whole band is monstrous! It is indeed a Big Damn Band, yet he manages this only accompanied by his wife on the washboard and backing vocals and a killer drummer. And it is a gas to watch his wife's facial expressions and intensity. Added feast for the eyes and ears are the abundance of drool worthy vintage guitars. His shows are the definition of "barnburners". I am posting another artist here that I have not seen represented at all, so hopefully you and your Guitargate audience will get turned on to a new dig. I picked one swampy bluesy tune in this recent live stream but its all golden. Enjoy!
