An amazing solo live version of Love Is All. Apart from the soul crushing lyrics describing someone who has become bittered and is shaped through all the hard things he endured in life to not be able to feel love anymore, but at home in the chaos, the way swedish Kristian Matsson accompanies himself on the guitar is superb. A perfect example of finger picking with a leading melody on top of the Travis picking like base. The dynamics and complexity this guy retains in both his playing and singing hit me every time I hear this, with the rawness in his voice acting out the pain described by the lyrics. No fancy soloing or big sounds, just a perfect example of how special and deep taking and mastering something basic in nature and developing it can be.
The whole show is amazing. I queued up the video just before the jam of the song. Truly one of my favorite examples of how mood, vocabulary, and leadership can drive a performance.
