Charlie Hunter, Stanton Moore, Skerik, and Mike Dillon...so good! Great take on a Hendrix classic!
Michael, I know you love stories and I'm hoping you'll bite on this one. Willi Carlisle is a fantastic songwriter and the story that comes with "Tulsa's Last Magician" is one I think you'll love to hear.
Hey Mike! I am a new member and really enjoying the platform and can't wait to dive even deeper! I have posted a video from one of my favourite artists/bands Ron Artis II and The Truth. This is an artist that I have been listening to for a while now and I love his music. He has such a varied portfolio of music and, in my opinion, it is all worth at least one listen (particularly the "Soul Street" and "Purpose" albums!). However, this song "Searching for Answers" has always been a favourite of mine. I think it is the dynamics that get me - the way it starts with soft volume swells in the intro and then builds into an explosive solo and then slows right down again at the end. It would be really cool to hear what you think/get a bit of a breakdown of the song!
Gabe Lee is a native son of Nashville, and on the verge of blowing up (just gotr written up in Billboard). One of the best lyricists and players around. Would be interested in your take on the understated guitar work of this song, and how it compliments the wrenching lyrics.
