Zach Meadows has made a splash in Nashville with the combination of his wonderful lyrics, and hauntingly beautiful voice. Not many, if any, artists have a sound as unique and pure as Zach's!

I was fortunate to see Derik Hultquist lead a songwriter round at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville last Friday - and this song, "Life is Short," has been haunting me ever since. Derik is a Tennessee native, and a songwriter who has been in and around Nashville for the past dozen+ years. To me, he is a songwriter's songwriter - his lyrics are well beyond what we're used to hearing on commercial radio. (this video contains a few songs and an interview, but the song "Life is Short" is at the very beginning. Hope you enjoy!

Americanafest was held here in Nashville last week, and most of the big names in that genre showed up for a week of awards and performances in seemingly every venue in town. Among all of great artists, Gabe Lee stood out with daily (sometimes two each day) performances. Why? He's one of the best players and songwiters today. I'd be interested in your take on his talents!

Gabe Lee is a native son of Nashville, and on the verge of blowing up (just gotr written up in Billboard). One of the best lyricists and players around. Would be interested in your take on the understated guitar work of this song, and how it compliments the wrenching lyrics.

Simply said, everyone needs to know who Gabe Lee is. He's a little John Prine and a little Bob Dylan, a bit Paul Simon and a bit Billy Joel. His guitar playing is terrific and his lyrics are wonderful. He is slowly growing his fan base, but as I said, everyone needs to hear him - he's THAT good.

Hi Michael - don't know if anyone has ever suggested you do a reation to Gabe Lee or not, but he is becoming one of the fastest risers in the tradional country scene. He's a little Bob Dylan, a little Townes Van Zandt, and a whole lot of original! Great player and wondereful lyricist.
