Biography
I'm 64 years old, to start with. I started playing classical guitar when I was sixteen, and I played pretty seriously until I went to college, when I set it aside until my mid-twenties, when I took lessons for a few years in the Bay Area until I left to go back to graduate school. My guitar more or less stayed in its case then, until a few years ago, when my wife (a professional violinist and indefatigable supporter) encouraged me to play again. I was enjoying rediscovering the classical repertoire until last year, when I realized I had a real hankering to play the blues. I've been exploring the genre since then, both on my own and with the inestimable Joe Zook (https://joezookblues.com/). Both of my sons are also professional musicians, so I feel like I'm finally joining the family!
