I'm on a mission to bring more dissonance into my playing and I'm not sure anyone does it better than Dave Rawlings. How does he find these notes?

Such a beautiful song full of tasteful and creative licks from David Rawlings. He seems to find those dissonant in-between notes at just the right moments. I really want to learn how to do that better and would love to see you break this one down. Appreciate all you do to help us on the path thanks!
