There’s more to the story, of course, but I started playing in earnest at the tender age of 49. Years later found me writing my own tunes and fronting a band built around those originals. After a few gigs, we did what so many bands do… we disbanded. Still writing with one of my former band mates, which is wildly good fun. (I even have lyric credits on a couple of his band’s albums, and they recorded their arrangement of one of my originals. Crazy!) I think I'm a better lyricist and builder than player, but having discovered music at a later stage of life, I’ve fallen head over heels in love and can clearly see playing as the awesome, generous gift that it is. While I continue to take private lessons with an amazing, much beloved teacher, I'm here to back-fill the holes in my knowledge base, which are many. Michael's practical, systematic approach has yielded substantial benefits in a relatively short period - and more to come. Onward!
