Hey, hope you had fun at NIN. Check this out. Don't want to spoil it but some Great playing imho. If you happen to understand the part right before he strums the chords thatd be clutch.

Came across this while going through a YouTube guitar rabbit hole. I hope you enjoy it if you haven't seen it.
Just got through the first few parts of starting a new career and wanted to say hey. Happy new year.

Heres my fingering exercise. Working on upside down righty for my back/posture and also the creative enrichment. Now that I think about it...maybe my first custom guitar will have strap placements for switching back and forth. Let me know if you know of one. The 2nd part is about 2x slower than my right side up lefty stance so sorry that it's a long video. I do want to work on making them digestible. No worries if you skip that 2nd part.
Have a good day or night. I enjoy working on not looking at the fretboard for these types of exercises and seeing how comfortable I can get...like trey.

Hey I made this a little while ago but figured I'd post it. It's the first thing i played after listening to your "how to play more melodically" on YouTube. It's about using 3rds. I'm also working on this finger exercise and putting together a before and after video.
Have a great weekend

Hey
Would love an analysis of this song. Its kpop. Bruno mars meets a shonen jump intro theme song meets 2000s emo.
If you can breakdown the melody/harmony of the chorus/prechorus thatd be clutch. Its literally 3-4 notes that are the absolute pivot/axis of this song. It's just enough to make me want listen again without leaving me 100% satisfied. If that's not pop, idk what is. It's almost scientific.
A side thread/note/idea...I notice in these types of songs there is often guitar present but in a very background support role. A series on these types of songs would be cool. I have yet to uncover all the unsung heroes of boyband/pop studio level guitarist who are probably extremely underrated.

Hey, I saw you did a comparison video of mayer and garcia playing the same song. This made me think of you.
If you do check this out, I was having trouble with time stamping it with the link. Please go to 33:12 for the song. It's also hyperlinked in the description.
Cheers and have a great weekend.

Saw an interview of Billy Corgan where he said, "In the nineties we used to play a song that was 40 minutes long...who does that anymore?"
Irony aside, I believe this is their longest version of any song live. Always loved the quest to get a band to this just as a performing unit. Very underrated thing. Then to throw ontop the real deal rock and roll energy. A good jam for those looking for a sound that jams but doesnt want to sound like "a jam band."

Love this style. Still dont know what I'm hearing. From what I looked up it's in DADGAD. Always thought it'd be cool to take this style to the next level by incorporating it in a live band arrangement and/or songs with lyrics.

Hey Michael, stoked to be apart of the community. I hope I can hit you with something eclectic you haven't seen before here. This is a maryland indie artist from when I went on a spotify deep dive trying to figure out what "indie," is as a genre. I just love the blend here of watching someone where there are obviously multiple different influences that come together to make something unique. Very inspiring I think for anyone who hasn't been able to make the band thing work long term and is just by themselves. Sorry theres no lyrics but I hope the melody, structure, and build will do.
