Biography
Hi, this is Paul from Germany. I grew up with great music and discovered many great bands and artists myself over the years. Music has been a big part of my life, but I never learned to play an instrument. Unfortunately my parents did not play any either. Got a guitar for christmas when I was around 14, but was too shy to take lessons and gave up since the whole youtube lesson thing wasn't there or that big, back in the day. Bought a guitar and an amp at 29, tried teaching myself for a year or so and now entering this course because I like Michaels attitude and enthusiasm and I really want to get decent understanding of music theory! Here we go...

Love me some Gary Clark! Fun song, great performance. And the keys add a really nice layer to his songs. On the last song (When My Train Pulls In @ Surfer's Lodge) Michael reacted to, the keys player was not part of the band yet.

Hey Guys. Long time no see! Have some busy weeks behind me. I'm still practicing stuff from level one course, especially chord changes. But I also learned and practiced some little pieces I've found on youtube. Now I want to progress with level two, so I thought it'll be nice if I played you one of those little pieces. This on in particular, I picked up from ActiveMelody.com. I really dig some of the stuff Brian (the host) has to offer there. Especially pieces which you can play without backing tracks. Hope you'll like it :)

I VI II V in G and I IV V in A. I was a little off-beat on the first one. I blame this on the amp/volume fail^^ I'll work on that though... and the auto-thumbnail was hilarious so I left it like that.

I still owed you my introduction video, so here it is. For those wondering what "Servus" is, it's the bavarian allrounder for "Hello" and "Bye".

You are not familiar with "The Cold Stares"? You're welcome! It's a brilliant two-piece and they deserve much more recognition than they get. I know it's a little set, but the songs themselves are relatively short and maybe you could check out "Neighbor Blues" and "Jesus' Brother James" (timestamps in the comments). Give some love to this awesome band! They're one of the inspirations why I'm doing this whole guitar thing :)

I use both strumming patterns shown in the lesson. The chords are Dm to Gm and Am to C.

It's ridiculous how cramped up I am, lol. Guess this is the benefit of recording yourself and see yourself play. Gotta let lose and breathe a little more^^

All major and minor chords played in alphabetical order. Just the single notes first and then the full chord.

Kirk Fletcher was one of the first guys I discovered when getting more into blues. I think he has great rhythm and feel. Josh Smith once said that if he only could listen to slow blues for the rest of his life, he wants to listen to Kirk. This is more of a "happy" tune, but it's killer and always gets me into a good mood. I'm surprised you haven't reacted to Kirk yet.
