Holy smokes! Right from the first sight of this dude with the cigarette hanging from his lip I new this would be a real one. I think you might dig it too. It's one of those songs that offers a brief peak through a window into somebody's life. It's definitely on my list.

I have an awful time doing the exact assignments and forgot to do one in second key. I meant it to be quick, but kept missing the turn around, so I had to keep going until I came close lol

Even broke out the ancient Peavey for this one. Starting to feel ok with this guitar stuff.

The turns and ends are what I struggle with most. Ever since I was a youngster I have had an issue with the timing of them, so I more or less have learned to avoid playing these as much as possible, which is a screwy way of learning music.

I couldn't get the jam tracks to play so I looped a progression. Pretty decent lesson for funky moods lol One day at time, moment to moment.

Oh man it's been a tough stretch. I am just glad to be able to put a vid up for this lesson. I wanted to use the track Michael made, but I am running slow upstairs and just can't figure out how to make it work. Anyway, here's an attempt at using an A blues scale to solo with.

I get lost in my head a lot and it shows with my timing issues, but I used to generally approach soloing by taking a vocal or horn line and riffing off that.

Giving it a go and trying to work on timing and all that. Gotta get the old brain box straight. 😃

You know I have been involved in music somehow my entire life, and only few times have been utterly confused by what I hear. This is one of those times. Lol I have know idea what's going on, yet I am here for it nonetheless.

I heard this and immediately came running to share. Between the story and the little intricacies I am an instant fan of this dude.

I don't know how to describe this. I've have heard a lot of music through, and this ranks right up there for me. It's different in the best way I can imagine.

A quick vid. Ran a running bass on the looper, then put a shuffle on top of that, and finally did the horn hits. Trying to be quiet-ish since the kids have a snow day and are sleeping in lol

I tried honestly to use a flat pick, but I can't. It became a chore so in the trash it went and back came out my thumb pick and goofy sounding picking. I have to say this blues course is borderline humiliating to me because I spent fifteen years in a jazz and blues group, so I thought I could breeze through but nope. My cocky ass knows nada. That's probably why the band broke up in '09 lol 😃

I know nothing about tones and stuff. I basically turn the tone almost off at the guitar then crank the treble, mids at half, and bass almost off at the amp. I use a vintage overdrive pedal too, and that's it. I probably could look into it more.

I cheated and went with what was easier for me because I could. Sometimes good enough is all you'll get.

I can't get the feel for this. The timing seems all wrong and I am still trying to learn the shuffle. What a pain in the ass.

I have been struggling with counting and nothing about an 8 bar blues seems right to me. This is my best shot at it, but I will figure it out eventually.
P.s.had to double up In order to post the vid on yt and have it show here. I guess I needed to break the minute barrier

I have been working and working at playing country, and specifically in the key of G because it is a major frustration for me. I have some sort of mental block or something, but here is where I am at. I will keep pushing and eventually feel comfortable.

It has been a year!!! I have made a lot of progress which I am extremely proud of and can't thank you and the community enough for it. I am even getting better at not getting so frustrated when I can't get what's in my head out on the guitar. Every day a little better. Thank you again. Maybe next year I will have a better handle on the triad things and a better grasp on the chord changes.

I am a boat without an anchor on this course series. I am trying, but my brain is just not picking up what is being layed down. I am posting this thinking I might be on track. Just a tune I have been working on for a couple years. My biggest issue is understanding the differences between country and Rock or old time rock anyway. I am sure I will get it eventually...or I won't.
