After again making sure the artist in my ReactionRequest is not represented elsewhere here, I offer you this barnburner of "The Popa" tearing it up on this bluesy rocker. I have seen him a number of times and he puts it all out there and never dissapoints. This was a number of years ago when Popa was actually standing while playing. Sadly, it seems his weight and perhaps related health problems have caused him to remain seated, BUT that has not hampered his playing or intensity whatsoever. He is a powerhouse guitarist AND vocalist and I hope all of you get the chance to experience one of his shows. He also has a great stage presence. Enjoy!

Discovered these "surfy" reverb drenched guys as an opening act and its been a love affair ever since. All good here, but I point you to a song at the 25:26 mark. Enjoy!

Hi Mike. My good friend turned me on to "The Rev" a few years ago and we had the awesome experience of seeing him and his Big Damn Band at the intimate Daryl's House Club in Pawling, NY sitting front row. And WOW - his voice, guitar playing and the energy level of the whole band is monstrous! It is indeed a Big Damn Band, yet he manages this only accompanied by his wife on the washboard and backing vocals and a killer drummer. And it is a gas to watch his wife's facial expressions and intensity. Added feast for the eyes and ears are the abundance of drool worthy vintage guitars. His shows are the definition of "barnburners". I am posting another artist here that I have not seen represented at all, so hopefully you and your Guitargate audience will get turned on to a new dig. I picked one swampy bluesy tune in this recent live stream but its all golden. Enjoy!

Such a killer and infectious tune! I just wish that there was more like this in their catalog. If it exists, I couldn’t find it.

Hi there again Michael and GuitarGate community. Although you have a few Tommy E videos waiting in the wings and have reacted to at least one, IMO this video is a super special rare treat, as we get to see and hear Tommy play ELECTRIC and a tele of course. In addition, we are blessed to hear JD Simo (and his LP) trade licks with Tommy on equal footing and even bring a little slide into the equation. I have seen Tommy many times and of course engulfed myself with all his great YouTube vids, BUT it is extremely rare to see him pick up an electric - which is most unfortunate because it is an extraordinary experience and a nice variation. Enjoy their take on this timeless classic.

First I want to say thanks to not only Michael but this whole GuitarGate community. I pride myself on the deep and wide breath of music and am always looking for something I havent heard before - perhaps to a fault. Well, the videos that have been assembled on this site have not only turned me on to artists I hadn't heard but also killer performances of familiar artists that I had not seen. Bravo! In that regard, most all the videos I have posted to date are artists I did not see represented, or at least only minimally so. This video is no exception. I have seen Jorma many times over the years and "in the day" and the longest concert by a single band/artist I ever saw was a midnight show by Hot Tuna in the late-70's at the NYC Palladium which clocked in at over 5 hours, with Jorma playing an opening acoustic set before the full band came out for the electric fun. Watching Jack on bass here is a real treat, as you can really hear the note articulation with Jorma on acoustic. Enjoy!

This mind blowing version of Take Five by George Benson at his prime is unreal! It is a force to be reckoned with. Enjoy!

Hi there. FZ has been a guitar idol of mine for decades and I was privileged to see him many times, including several of his iconic Halloween midnight shows at the former Palladium in NYC. However, I must admit that the several Dweezil shows I have seen have had my "jaw to the floor" more so than many FZ shows. Not only is Dweezil that good, but he pulls off many songs you never or rarely ever heard FZ play live. This show is bitter sweet for me because I had seats upfront and decided to exercise caution and forgo the concert, as COVID was starting to take its grip. As it turns out, it was the last show that occurred before the venue and State shut things down. DZ and the band were doing a special anniversary tribute to the Hot Rats album - one of my favs and judging by this video, they set the place on fire! So much too choose from, but I point you to the 7':13" mark for their version of Willie the Pimp. Thanks.

You could practically pick ANY of the Greg Koch videos and experience jaw dropping moments and this livestream in no exception. He is not of the this world and his band is top notch as well. What a full sound they manage out of a trio without even a bass player. And dig the drummer holding it down while his mask is covering his eyes more than half the time! And bonus here, we get to see Greg playing a growling P90 Bigsby variation of his signature T-Style Reverend Gristlemaster. (Incidentally, I purchased that model in the "standard" single coils and it is a dream both as to fit, finish and tones.) I point you to a bluesy shuffle song 1 at the 1'20" mark or his insane cover of the Jeff Beck classic "Cause We've Ended As Lovers" at the 38'20" min mark. But any song on here is worthy and you have blues, funk, jazzy stuff and chicken pickin to choose from. I think you need to do a deep dive into his material. Love the channel Mike!!

I was giddy and elated when I first discovered this gem of a band. And wait until you hear the singer's vocal range in this soulful delight. Thanks.

Diego Garcia, the guitarist and leader of Twanguero, is just plain cool and this tune embodies that coolness. And how about that band name. As you will discover, it is most befitting. I encourage everyone to check out many of their other vids, which, BTW, are produced in stellar fashion. Thanks.

Johnny A is a guitar idol of mine and which I have had the privilege of seeing several times in very intimate venues. I even saw him a couple of years ago as part of The New Yardbirds!
Love this groove and hope you and your subscribers do as well. Thanks.

Love your channel. I know you are an Allman Bros fan but not sure if you are familiar with Sea Level, which was formed by pianist Chuck Leavell after he and a couple of others left the Allman's upon Duane's death. The band's name Sea Level is a play on Chuck Leavell's name (C. Leavell). Anyway, I believe they only put out two or three albums, but the first (from which this song is found) is the real standout IMO. In fact the whole album is a desert island disc for me. They have an amazing ability in one song to go from gorgeous melodic parts to scorching "evil" parts at the drop of a hat. There are two guitar solos here and although both are great, the second is my fav. And Chuck's piano parts are the bomb. Not many vids of them out there and this is the best quality I could find. Thanks!
