Michael always says he likes a story. This song is the story of friendship. I'm part of a group of guys who met in high school and have been getting together every summer on a cabin on a river in the middle of Idaho. I worked the solo out in one of Michael's classes. Hope you enjoy.

I'm working out a solo for "Tasty Guitar Lick #3," which is the main rhythm part I'm playing over. This lesson really helped. It is mostly in Dm with a major 7th and flat 5th thrown in here-and-there for color. This took me several weeks to get down, but hearing and watching myself play it, it comes of as a pretty simple melody. I hope you like it.

Octave shape, chord, full minor scale for each of the 5 positions starting on the A-shape. I played it clean but added a bunch of Valhalla Supermassive reverb in post--because I love that sound!
This lesson was a growth lesson for me, because I definitely know those minor scale shapes a bunch better now.

This comes from a solo I wrote for "Cabin on a River," a song I am producing.

Chords are from slowed down version of Dylan's "Blind Willie McTell"

Vibrato, using probably too much of the Valhalla plugin. There's an Angus lick in there from "What Do You Do for Money, Honey."

Basic shuffle in E--one take (which is an improvement!)

Jamming out on the chorus part of "Deal" with a little dirt on the rhythm part and a bit more dirt on the lead part. It took me forever to find suitable tones on my Yamaha THR ii. But I think I got there. This exercise and the other video upload in this unit have really helped my lead playing. The caged exercises have really forced me to know the progressions on different parts of the neck. I've got a long way to go, but I feel I'm progressing a bit. Thanks, Michael!

Soloing over the first few chords of "Deal"--mostly in A, but trying to hit some out of key notes when they come around.
