I haven't submitted a react request in a while now, but after hearing this song I knew I had to submit it. I think this relatively unknown artist is perfect for the channel. This particular song dives into topics of war, politics, faith, humanity, and disillusionment with the church. All important topics that are difficult to discuss, but somehow seem easier to bring up in a song. I hope you enjoy it and check out some of his other tunes. Thanks!

Honestly, I haven't made it through this whole video yet. After watching from 4:02 to 9:43, I already knew I had something I wanted to share with the community. So, I request a react request from 4:02to 9:43, but I encourage everyone to watch the rest of the video as I'm sure it's full of guitar work just as good, from some of the best in the biz right now.

This band showed up in my YouTube algorithm. There are a bunch of videos from this Fallout Shelter session. This was one of the slower songs so I wasn't going to pick it to share at first, but I think they did a great job with it. There's a lot going on because it's a good sized band of well polished musicians so I think it would be fun one to do a React video.
There is a nice call and response going on between the lead guitar player and keyboard player about 3/4th's the way though. I hope you enjoy and encourage folks to check out some of their other video's. Cheers!

A newer song from Larkin Poe. The music video just dropped today, but of course I picked a live version to share with the channel. I like the blue-phoria concept. Blue-phoria meaning the intersection between joy and sorrow, feeling so good but you know it can't last. There is a short but hot little slide solo here and this seems like the perfect summer outdoor concert jammer. Enjoy!
If you do like the live version I recommend checking out the video, it's easy to find on YouTube.

I read that Kinky Friedman passed away today, so I decided to do a React Request for one of his songs. I picked this one because it was one of his least controversial songs. He was an author and musician among many other things, and is probably best known for his humor and satire. Some of his subject matter of his would undoubtedly make people uncomfortable but there's no denying he played a part in American culture. He's played with Willie Nelson and even inspired Nelson Mandella. There is an interview at the end of this video which you don't need to play, but please play up to the 6 min mark. RIP KINKY!

I follow Guthrie and Tom/Uncle Larry on YouTube and I think they are both great guitar players, so it's fun to see videos of them performing together.
There's 2 songs in the video. First one ends around 8:22 and second one starts around 9:22.
I found some of the soloing in the first song a little unorthodox, and Tom's rock faces are pretty awesome, I'd like to hear you give your 2 cents on what they might be thinking when soloing on these tunes. Thanks!

Who knew Harry could play the guitar? :) Seriously though, I think this is great. He really draws you in right away. I think we can all relate to something in this song since we are a guitar playing community and this is an ode to your guitar.
There are some great lines in here, I really liked, "When that melodies in me, I can hear your choir sing.".
Jeff Daniels apparently is not only a diverse actor, but also a pretty darn good song writer. Enjoy!

It's Friday, I'm in a good mood, and the YouTube algorithm delivered me this tasty funk jam this morning so I wanted to share it with you. Let's get the funk out! :)
This song starts out fire and just keeps getting better. This band obviously has practiced together to have all those stops timed so well. The drummer is on point! The lead guitar player really displays some technical ability and then throws in some scat over his playing, so much fun.

I'm interested in hearing the breakdown of the music theory behind this one. ;)
But seriously, this has some wild guitar playing and it's fun to watch as a guitar player because it's a very unique approach to the instrument. Enjoy! \m/

Tommy and Billy, a couple of the best in the business, of course I had to post this one. Also under 3 minutes so please enjoy this short and sweet pickin' and grinin' collaboration.

Wow, what a voice on this young man. I'm submitting this because I think he is a good singer/songwriter with a lot of soul. He may be a household name one day. Apparently he's only 15 years old.
While the guitar work doesn't seem too difficult, I'd say it's definitely not beginner level, with some barre chords and interesting little embellishment.
I'd like to hear you break down the theory here and let me know what you think of Jake Kohn's performance overall.

Trey and Page from Phish, "from the barn" series. If anyone likes this they have a few more songs like this on Youtube. I enjoyed this stripped down version of the song. I believe Trey's guitar is tuned down a whole step. It might make it a bit difficult to do a React Request in standard, so if you picked this video... good luck! :)
I've got tabs for this song. I'm learning it in standard tuning so everything is a step higher. I'm too lazy to tune down a whole step. Enjoy!

I did a reacts request search and Freddie King's name did not come up, so I have to post one of his performances. Great introduction, oozing with blues goodness, sweet guitar, tight band, what's not to love? I also really enjoyed the section where the whole band stops except for Freddie and you can see everyone in the band still moving, keeping the beat in their heads. Good stuff!

Trey and Billy is a winning combination in my book. I'm sharing this because I think it is just so much fun to watch, I have been a Phish fan for over 20 years now and really like Billy Strings too. There is a lot going on and a lot of different aspects to enjoy with so many musicians on stage. I noticed Trey is really focusing on what Billy is doing, it makes me think a bunch of this was improvised in the moment, with probably just a loose song structure as a canvas. I hope you have as much fun listening to this as I did, cheers folks!

Just a fun little blues tune I wanted to share. It sounds like 12 bar blues with a 1-4-5 progression so pretty standard there, but he does a good job and I enjoy watching his slide work.
Enjoy!

Jam in the Van - G LOVE - "Cold Beverage"
If you don't know G Love and Special Sauce, you are missing out. The band is fun with a lot of positive energy.
I do like the studio song with the entire band better, but I figured this version would be much better for a react request.

If you want to skip all the introductions go to the 1:30 mark. There is a colorized version of this video that skipped all the introductions but I like this one better.
Lots of bluesy goodness going on in this video. Enjoy!

I've checked out a few from Cole's Red Barn Radio session and there are a lot of good ones, this one caught my attention in particular. Emotional story, catchy chorus, just a good tune all around.
So many great lines that help to give a visualization of the lyrics, "In the winter the snow just blowed on in through holes in a wall you could throw a dog through" :)

I just discovered Anna Moss and love her voice. There are probably better, more guitar centered videos I could have shared, but I'm starting with this one to at least get her name out there. Also, I love this one because they both take turns doing vocal percussion which is pretty awesome. Both of these individuals are talented and play multiple instruments. Deep dive worthy on YouTube. Check her out

This post is to highlight Ben Caplan. I have been listening to his stuff for many years now. He plays piano, guitar, and a few other instruments, so this isn't to highlight some super tricky guitar stuff, just a good songwriter. Do a YouTube dive on him.
