Heβs just such a great songwriter, and even if Michael doesnβt pick this itβs highly beneficial to have his chord voicing in your repertoire.

It's time to pay respect to peteyg for his 2013 pick of this song (especially the end riff)!

He lived and taught right down the road from me for like 15 years and I only walked into his studio once with a friend who was taking lessons from him. Rusty Cooley is a bit unknown, but to guitarists who have seen him live *raises hand* or have just heard a song of his feels like we have wasted time practicing the wrong things. Please listen to the album version of the song to be able to hear every note. According to Rusty, this song is the most difficult song to play out of all of his songs. Enjoy!

Zakk's screams in this song are epic (Second only to MJK - of a little-known band called wrench or Tool or something - at the end of the song The Grudge. Zakk as is always the case simply refuses to do pinch harmonics in this song. I think he can't do them, personally.

Rusty Cooley is a powerhouse. I am from Houston and went with my best friend to one of his lessons at Rusty's place. Just watching him pick his guitar up to play some really difficult lick for my friend to learn without the whole -play three notes, descend, play three notes again- thing was awesome. I asked him about sweep picking relating to getting cleaner and he grabbed the neck at the nut (4th fret or something) and started sweeping five and six-strings using only hammer-ons and pull-offs. No left hand, only right hand. I was stunned.

Awesome song from a band that I used to live by and my best friend took lessons from. An instrumental band that utilizes a lot of theory into their writing.

This is really a song to show that there is a difference between what someone is known for and who can be the most technically proficient.
