Biography
38 years old when I signed up here. I have played guitar sporadically since I was a teenager, finally taking guided steps to actually learn some fundamentals . I really enjoy Michael's approach to teaching and his general attitude. Most of my practice/"training" is between 8-10 pm after little ones are in bed.. ..slowly but surely, one "chunk" at a time. Arvada, CO.

I was wondering if it just comes natural, or how the "squeal" sound occurs??

Pattern 4 minor pentatonic and some loop jamming.

I still need to get some videos made for earlier lessons, but but I couldn't help myself, this was too fun!
I promise not to get too far ahead of myself. =)

These lessons are the very first time being taught any of this that I can recall. putting the pieces together. reminding myself how important this is.

I have never practiced much of the root separation, so I'm continuing to work on that.
I tried sticking to the lesson strumming here, but started just to get into a more familiar strumming rhythm .

I had learned most of these over the years but not all like the chord diagrams shown here in this lesson.

1) for A: I have always just partially barred this with index finger. Was this an early bad habit? Does that matter?
2) I noticed that for F and Fm it is not shown with the full bar - is it ok that I already do this?

I find it difficult to go slower than 120 bpm. Why is that?

I have used app tuners but have never owned an electric or acoustic tuner and have always done it by ear.. Michael did not talk of tuning by ear - is this ok to do? Since I'm recording these videos on the phone, I can't use the app at the same time. I have learned too that after warming up it's good to re-tune as the guitar can change tune..
