Honestly, Chris Buck is kind of launching himself up my list of greatest living guitar players. His touch is just absolutely impeccable. Even if you don't react to this, listen to it because it's just beautiful. His version of Nothing Compares to You by Prince is equally amazing. Would love to see you cover it, or even just talk touch and it's relationship to tone.

I would call this the greatest guitar solo ever played. It sort of straddles that line, where it's beautiful, but there's also something vaguely apocalyptic about it as well. Gilmour is my personal guitar hero because his stuff isn't lightning fast or super technical, but his sound is like fingerprint: one note and you know who's playing. Also, Pink Floyd is basically what I think it would sound like if some vastly superior species landed on earth and decided to show us their music. I'd love to see you do a breakdown of this.

This is just an absolutely lovely song, and the inclusion of another amazing guitarist putting super tasteful fills into the main riff makes it feel incredibly smooth. Also, this singer continues to be one of the best on planet earth.

I actually would love to just hear some of the theory around those fills since the lead player improvises so much of his stuff. I guess in this case, it should be lead players, but still. Also, that main riff is a ton of fun. Not complicated (I worked it out in about 10 minutes) but fun and an ideal canvas for some really pretty and subtle lead work.

These guys are just absurdly talented and the vocals are incredible, but the play between the slide lead guitar and the regular rhythm guitar is what makes this song so fascinating for me.

You may have noticed from my requests on Tuesdays that I'm much more about songwriting and emotional lyrics than I am about pure instrumental virtuosity. I love a good solo as much as anyone, but I love great songwriting in a way I can't put into words. In any case, this may be my favorite example ever of emotional songwriting. If you haven't heard it, even if it doesn't make the cut for a react request, listen to it and let it lift you up on a hard day. Many thanks for all you do, and for sharing your knowledge here.
