Biography
Been playing since 1980. Mainly a heavy metal, classic rock kid. Cut my teeth on all the classics like ACDC, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, and Ozzy. While I always loved other music as well, it seemed that the guitar hero era of the 80's lit my fire. When I was 20, I moved to LA from CT, and pursued a career in music. I made lots of connections, and learned a lot about the business. I spent 12 years there writing, recording, gigging, and touring. One more kid, out of the millions that LA chewed up and spit out. After completing my last tour in 1997, I decided life on the road was not for me. In the year 2000 I returned home with lots of stories, and a plethora of memories. I slowly overtime have built my own home studio to continue being creative, although I have no aspirations of "making it". In the last 20 years I have worked hard to expand my knowledge of all types of music in hopes of becoming the most well rounded player that I could be. I am self taught, and regret never REALLY learning my music theory thoroughly, so that I could apply it to my playing. So here I am. Although I consider myself an advanced player, I don't believe I can progress to the next level without going back to the beginning, and trying to learn all of the fundamentals cold. I need to get myself to the point where I can utilize the theory, without overthinking what I am doing. Playing over more complexed changes, and truly understanding how to use theory to my benefit. Mike had the right personality to motivate me to want to do this with Guitar Gate. With so many options out there to choose from, you were the one that inspired me to do something about it. With a focus on building a positive, supportive community, where we all seek to learn from each other and better ourselves, I just had to be part of it. Looking forward to sharing whatever it is that I have to offer.
