Micheal, I'm loving the channel and your theoretical approach to these reacts videos! Keep up the great work. It is improving my guitar playing by leaps and bounds.

Not sure if you've come across Vulfpeck before, but they are single-handedly bringing Funk back to the masses. They sold out MSG in Dec last year and have built a huge fan base due to their quirky style, catchy song-writing, and very solid musicianship. Fun fact: They raised ~$20k on Spotify by having their fanbase stream an album of blank songs overnight on repeat and used the money to fund a free tour.

An oldie but a goodie! Its pretty bad video quality but the audio is good. Would love to get your help breaking some of it down. Bernard runs through "Meet me Halfway" followed by "Serious" by his dad Luther Allison

Just WOW, i know its a long video but this is one of the coolest blues performances ever in my opinion. This was at the 2010 crossroads festival and is a classic must watch for sure. For the sake of the react though, i'm more concerned with the first 6 - 7 minutes of the video

What is there to say? Tone? Yes! Drums? YES! Clowns? You betcha.

The Smashing Pumpkins are constantly mentioned for their songwriting and fuzz tone. But what about that feedback control? What is happening in those shredding lines? How are the guitars working together? Why does that second opener "..and I knew.." sound SO good? Would love to hear your thoughts! Great courses and content!!

I've been following this guy (and his band The Other Favorites) for a few years and love his phrasing and vocals. I love this version as the guitar has a lovely tone and the chord choices and embeleshments are so on point. I'd love to see you're reaction and breakdown. He's like a mix of James Taylor and Paul Simon! Big thanks from across the pond for what you do!

What happens when up and coming legend Billy Strings sits down with the undisputed best banjo player in the world? Let’s find out....

First of all thank you for all the lessons and the react (more like amazing breakdowns) that you do!! Learning a lot about theory. Now for the song, I was hooked from the first bass lick and the voice control and range LP has is bonkers. I can guarantee in writing that you will not be disappointed by her singing.
The video is 4 years old but has half a billion views! I don't have the knowledge yet to tell if the guitar playing and scale/progression choice is mainstream or the lead and bass are throwing curveballs but the song as a whole is a masterpiece. I would love to hear your take on the song as your perspective always gives a clear and precise insight to the music magic happening inside. Please do a react for this song.

I would love to see you react to this! I just recently discovered Sonny, and I'm amazed that he isn't more well known. Definitely one of the greatest slide players ever. (Clapton said he is one of the most underrated musicians in the world.) I've loved Derek Trucks for a while now, and to see them solo off each other is just amazing. They both shine because each of them gives space for the other. The soloing has a very clear element of being a conversation. That on its own is a lesson for anyone who plays in a band. The rhythm section is also super tight.

I realized that I posted the music video instead of a live performance and couldn’t for the life of me find how to take it down, my apologies. But Jonny has an awesome souls-y, blues-y sound that’s just awesome. All of his songs are gems, but this is the first one I heard by him way back.

I know Les is a bass player but I'd love to see you react to this. Thank you for all you're doing for this community!

Hi Michael, love this artist I saw live a few times. He wrote this tune for the Woody Allen movie Midnight in Paris.
I can see arpeggios and lot of chromatic runs, but I am having trouble guessing the progression. I am in awe about this guy’s ability to find the β€˜changing note’ and highlight the changes.
Hope you like it.

Michael, you could drop Isbell's whole catalog in the queue and be blown away by every song. He's one of the best songwriters in a generation. He's an incredible guitar player too. We southerners are super proud to call him our own. He's connected through his stint in the Drive By Truckers to the Muscle Shoals music scene (Patterson Hood's dad David Hood was part of the legendary Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section also known as "The Swampers" ...see "Sweet Home Alabama"). But i think of all the tracks that will get your blood boiling, this version of "Goddamn Lonely Love" is incredible. Amazing horn section. Great guitar work. I've seen him play "flashier" longer solos than he plays here. But this is just so tasteful. He plays what the song demands and nothing more. The drummer is a machine and has the best facial expressions. Amazing lyrics...it's the total package. Check it out...(btw, your channel continues to be amazing. Thanks so much. I recently subscribed to your lessons, and I'm looking forward to brushing up my chops!)
