Michael- I truly cannot thank you enough for everything you have done for me musically...

I am 24 years old and was introduced to this band by friends in college. Totally blew my freakin mind into the stratosphere... I came into music through my dad who loved all kinds of genres but mainly rock & roll- Beatles, Stones, The Dead, Floyd, Clapton, Zeppelin, Hendrix... anything from Emerson Lake & Palmer to Santana to Todd Rundgren to Talking Heads. He went to college in the 70s and I truly owe him everything...

This 'band', one Australian genius named Kevin Parker, felt like the equivalent of my generation's Beatles to me... The video I have selected is the 10th Year Anniversary of the Parker's debut album 'Innerspeaker'. All four of his albums are very psychedelic but this one takes the Psych-Rock cake by miles... Think Lennon in the height of 60's psychedelia with dreamy vocals, punchy drums, killer guitars riffs, spacey-phase drenched rhythms and basslines that needs to take a shower...

Favorite songs from video:
Runway Houses City Clouds [48:50] - incredible psych-rock jam**
Desire Be Desire Go [6:16]
Solitude Is Bliss [26:03]
It Is Not Meant To Be [00:36]

I cannot expressed how large of an impact this artist has had on my musical journey and exploration. Kevin Parker's music has evolved over every album- moving into more dreamy synth rock-pop with 'Lonerism' (my personal favorite) to more mainstream synth-pop & pysch-rock disco grooves with 'Currents' and 'The Slow Rush'. I cannot implore others enough to take a deep dive if they don't know already- a true renaissance man and inspiration, who forever changed the musical landscape for many artists to come...

She pop'd up in my facebook feed last week, and I truly wondered why I haven't heard of her before. I've binged trough her discography this past week and I'm completely sold! This song is called connection. I think it has a great flow and something for everybody, chord progressions, lyrics, band dynamics etc.
In this clip the lighting guy is asleep, the cameraman is probably drunk, but the sound engineer does his part.

Hi Michael, I'm not sure how familiar you are with Lori McKenna but as far as modern day songwriters go, she's Jason Isbell 2.0 IMO. I would've never believed it until I went down the Lori rabbit hole on YouTube last year. Sweet Jesus. This is one of my favorites.

This platform has helped discover so many great songs and amazing singer/songwriters and the way you interact with the lyrics and the music has left a very deep impact on me, Michael. I've been hooked on Zac Brown for a while now and was playing this record in the background earlier tonight when this song came on. I'm sure you'll appreciate the words for what they are because he is singing some really true ones here, and the solo at the end is just gorgeous!
