Soloing over blues is different than soloing over diatonic harmonies because it doesn’t fall in one specific tonality, and it leaves much open to the improviser to explore.  Because of the mixing of the major and minor sounds, we often find ourselves playing back and forth between the major and minor pentatonic scales. 

There really isn’t a right or wrong way to solo over the blues - but you do need to take your time and listen.  The great blues players were also usually great singers, and they let the sound lead them - not a scale shape or pattern.  So keep that in mind as we move ahead in this course.
