While acoustic and electric guitars have differences, both are constructed with the same three basic parts - the head, the neck, and the body. While itβs very easy to see in the video, here are the essential parts of each:
- Head Stock
- Tuners
- Tuning pegs
- Nut
- Neck
- Nut
- Fretboard
- Frets
- Body
- Bridge
- Floating (bridge moves with a tremolo bar)
- Non-floating (bridge is fixed to the guitar)
- Sound hole (acoustic)
- Pickups (electric)
- Pickup selector (electric)
- Varies from guitar to guitar, but generally bridge, neck or combo position
- Volume / tone knobs (electric)
- Input jack (electric)
- Bridge

Hopefully this is my first of many to comeβ¦ I am a massive audiophile and I have always wanted to be able to actually play while I sing; so, I have all the reasons to dedicate time and effort to guitargate teaching as music is my catharsis, and Michael you speak to my soul, how you talk & look (and kind of lose your mind) about music, Iβm all in!
