Sell your chord changes by focusing on nailing the CHORD TONES while playing blues scales.  It's all about knowing your neck, and knowing where the chord tones are.

The most important ones to keep track of are the 3rds and 7ths.

Of course, the roots and 5th are important, but they don't color your leads (demand chord movement) like the 3rds and 7ths.

You can do this as little or as much as you like - that's how you develop your personal blues style!
