This guy is incredible. I know you have reacted to his stuff in the past so I thought I would throw this your way. A beautiful song with a lot of feeling. From what I can gather from his description under the video, this song was written after a fairly traumatic event in his life. He says "Miscarriage is devastating. So difficult to understand. It’s like grieving in reverse: Instead of memories, you have hopes to hold on to. Who are you mourning?".

TE in form playing Merle Travis. Singing, joking while playing spell-binding guitar..nobody can do it better!

The progression going from 2:12 to 2:30 is gorgeous. What is it and what makes it sound so good?

Michael...my Maryland brother, I knew I liked you and everything about your teaching the moment I saw you. I just became a member, but have been watching your ReAct videos for about 3 months. I’ve learned more from you in 3 months than I have in 3 yrs or more. Musically, you’ve inspired me in such a major way, but also just in life in general. You’re an amazing guy and a blessing of a teacher for many. I appreciate you and what you do deeply. Thank you.

Alright!...with that necessary piece out of the way, I feel like Willie is such an incredible guitar player and somehow gets overlooked as such. His phrasing, his melodies, unique rhythms have always been so cool to me. He reminds me a little of Billie Holiday the way he approaches his leads.

This is Nightlife. I’m sure you know it, but it’s this particular recording on VH1’s Storytellers that I love more than any. I’ve learned to play it mostly from his son Lucas, but I’ve never figured out this performance of Willie’s and it’s so hard to find. After searching for a couple of years, it popped up a few wks ago. I was so stoked to watch and now as a member of this awesome community, I’m stoked to add it to your ReActs request. I think you’ll really enjoy it. It’s the first song on the link.

Thanks for all you do and I apologize for being so long winded...this whole experience on guitargate and your YouTube channels has this jacked up. I’m go play and practice now.

I grew up with Dave in a town in Maryland called Beltsville. He would ditch our whiffle ball games to go practice bass and I didn't understand why. I do now. While this band is no longer together, Dave still plays around Maryland. He writes his own music (including this song) and plays guitar also. Check out Dave Phenicie Music on Facebook. BTW, that's Phil Hurley on lead guitar. Great stuff.
